IMO, it's prison ethos. The only thing you own in prison is your self-respect, and damnit they will not allow someone to take that away from them.

Then they bring that bullshite from prison to civilian life and raise kids to believe that is how the world works.

I think of how many "Moms of melanin" have left meetings with me red faced and furious, after thinking it was ok to demand I "respek dey kids"

I generally just say "no" and the hand waving and yelling starts. I just sit there stone faced until they are done and say, "is that all?" and I open the classroom door for them to leave.

Most every male teacher does the same thing. Let the dumb bitch yell and scream like anyone gives a hot shite about what she is saying

They usually go straight to the office cussing and yelling for the principal (a black woman). She would generally tell the lady some nonsense about reporting me. . .she already knew it was me the lady was talking about.

The Principal would come to my room and talk shite about the parent. We laugh.
