Don’t see these on TV anymore. Between racial inequality and “loving your body as it is”, this seems like the perfect opportunity for this character to become popular again. I do recall that Bill Cosby had a major hand in the production and character voices for the shows, both cartoons and the actual movie.
Does anybody remember this dude? The cartoon was on TV through most of the 70s and early 80s.

The only stuff kids watch today is CGI with god awful music and noises.

My man Bill was ahead of his time in both equality and date rape.

I remember Fat Albert. He was fat. Good character, but bad genetics or maybe some bad repeated mistakes made him Fat Albert, instead just Albert.
I'd like to see Akira Toriyama to make a saga of Albert growing up and loosing a shite-ton of weight and achieving his greatest destinies.

I don’t remember the focus on him being fat, as much as a really good guy with a really big heart, and always seemed to bring people together.

Mushmouth would not be tolerated today.
The show actually tried to teach a moral lesson on each episode. “If you’re not careful, you’re gonna learn something before we’re done.” Not the exact quote from the intro I’m sure but you get the idea - the show taught a lesson about right vs wrong.

Wasn't there a character named mush mouth? I sure hope that I've remembered this correctly as he was quite endearing in his way

I think pretty much all of Cosby’s shows got cancelled after 2015.

It was not a favorite, but we watched it because it was a cartoon and there was not one on either of the other two channels.
