North Face is like Nike I think.

Flood the zone with pure junk that still sells just for the logo, but pay huge money for the top talent in their respective sports as brand ambassadors and make a small number of very high level products available for those who need them.

Funny to see The North Face in there. 15-20 years ago they made quality Outdoor clothing, then they sold out to Gap and become a fashion line. Some of their stuff is still decent, but a far cry from what it used to be.

Their technical clothes are still quality, not up to the level of Rab or Marmot but they are cheaper as well.

Business has changed a lot in 25 years.
I think amazons fall will be delivery which they are trying to fix that weakness.

Someone will knock them off as they will get too big and bloated with operation cost. Questions are who will do it?
How will they do it?

I'm not saying Jimmy John's is great by any means but they make two levels of sandwich and one has like 3 slices of meat and the other is pretty loaded

I was specifically referring to Subway. A good po-boy place laughs at their wee sandwiches,

North Face is weird where they want to be like Kuhl with some of their stuff, but also still have some nice high end items for real outdoors people.

It's been Marmot & Kuhl for me and college age boys for outdoor gear.

Under Armour ruined their brand when they started being distributed in places like Kohl's.

Is this the same Khols you can buy Adidas and Nike at or is there some other discount Khols I don't know about

I read something that UA is hurt because they don't really sell much casual gear like Nike and Adidas do with their classic lines. I figured UA would be doing well enough on golf clothes to keep growing, but that must not be cutting it. Their shoes are getting way better, but people loyal to other footwear brands don't seem to trust them.

I am amazed at how much of our economy is based on coffee. The OP surprises me because Tim Horton's is growing like crazy here and Dunkin adds at a moderate pace. Of course, Starbuck's is everywhere, not to mention local coffee shops. That has to max out at some point.

Never even heard of it... was it just a Louisiana/Texas thing? I grew up in central NC/west TN.

Blimpie was in West TN and North MS, at least as late as 2012. I'm not sure if there are anymore though

No they won't. Them and Walmart Basically sell other people's stuff. It's much easier for these small businesses to go that route.

Amazon is also in delivering groceries that's huge going forward. And of course all of their digital content.

Under Armour screwed themselves when they went to Kohl's after Sports Authority closed though. They were selling some of the same products at Kohl's as Dick's. Only Kohl's is much cheaper. This pissed Dick's off and caused Under Armour to lose floor space at Dick's stores.

Dunkin is weird because it's such a beloved brand in the NE and it's practically a discount/crappy franchise here in the SE. Around these parts I feel like it's viewed as a Subway-quality place. They are building new nice locations, but something about the combo Dunkin/BR just seems so low rent. The donuts are pretty bad, the coffee drinks seem like knock offs and the breakfast sandwiches look inferior to QT.

I think people missed my post. UA is under investigation for cooking the books. The SEC doesn't come for you if you did nothing wrong. They were never as strong as people believed. And their shares tanked because of it.

Dick's ratted them out, couldn't remember if it was them or Kohl's. But basically Dicks got mad because they were supposed to be the retailer after Sports Authority closed.

I have not really looked into investigation for UA. Will have to read about that.

Most of their apparel is athletic cut, unlike Nike which (outside of their team issue apparel) seems to cater to short fat guys
