Just read report that a Chinese ship that was in the port carrying fireworks exploded. There are a few angles on twitter that show what appears to be fireworks going off after the first explosion.

Wonder if this guy filming made it? He was super close(watch end of video)

You can see the shattered glass of his balcony at the very end.

Red smoke and reports it was a fireworks storage unit in a warehouse on the Port but that doesn't look like a fireworks storage unit that looks like a Hamas weapons depot that blew up.

This is my thought on this. Israel was hitting Hezbollah facilities in Syria this past weekend. It would not shock me at all if they were doing the same in Lebanon. A munitions warehouse fire would in a lot of ways likely resemble a “fireworks warehouse” fire, but there’s no way fireworks would produce that massive boom at the end. Fireworks were likely the cover story for a facility storing military munitions from the Syrian Civil War or being prepped for use in a military campaign against Israel.

Twitter

this angle does support report that it was fireworks warehouse. Kind of resembles huge fireworks explosion in mexico from a few years back

Video of mexico fire works explosion.

The one in beruit is obviously larger, but you can hear and see the smaller explosions of the fire works going off before the larger explosion. Fire must have reached their explosive storage.

We'll probably never know

China says like 170 people were killed in the Tianjin explosions, which are the biggest I've ever seen

Holy shite this one shows buildings just disintegrate

That one looks like the first explosion, maybe due to the fire burning, set off explosion in underground gas lines in the matrix around it.

That's not good for the death toll I'd have to imagine.

Early word is that Gordon and the Strong Arm have fueled up their jets and are en route now to sign up victims for compensation.

Israel would be very dumb to drop a missile in the middle of Beirut.

Terrible accident is the simplest explanation.

It was at a port so speculation is the explosion is munitions of some kind.
