In my hometown, Packard made a licensed copy of the Rolls Royce V12 merlin engine. 27 liters.

And studebaker made big trucks, half went to the Soviets, and they still call big trucks "Studebakers" over there despite the company going under in 1963.

Yes. Ford made hundreds of thousands of Jeeps during the war.

Which story is your final choice to go with?

When I realized their planes probably shot at my grandpa - I traded my Mitsubishi in for a Dodge

Now I have a Chevy

My spouse’s godfather was in the Bataan death march and was a POW - he lost his leg and his balls - he’s the one who told me about the Mitsubishi airplanes - I did it for him
Your dad sounds like he was wiser than you.

The D-50 trucks were almost indestructible.

RR put the twin engines in the Misquito.British bomber WW2 crafted from balsa wood. Top speed >425mph. British factory workers said it was the finest piece of furniture ever made in England.

It was a dog until they added the super-charged engine.

Harker told his superiors the Mustang would perform better with Rolls-Royce’s Merlin 61. The “60 series” denoted two-stage, two-speed supercharged versions of the engine.

It’s not running now, and he’s dead - so not sure if he is/was wiser

What do you mean by that?

My grandpa died when I was 11 - a few years after my dad bought the ram 50 - which did not bother my grandpa who was sitting in Tokyo bay on Aug 6 - ready to go house to house if the Japanese didn’t surrender

I didn’t know that Mitsubishi made the planes that shot at my grandfather until I met my spouse’s godfather - I was a lot older than 11 then - parran was a little weird about me having a Mitsubishi - so I thought about it - realized that those guys shot at my grandpa and dismembered someone who was about to be a part of my family - all is fair in love and war - and the greatest generation had fought a real war

A war they didn’t ask for, a war that they won so we could be free

So I traded Mitsubishi for the Dodge

Trust me, the Mitsubishi didn’t keep its value

I don’t really owe you an explanation but since you seem like a smug bastard - I decided to tell you

You want to hear about my grandpa’s brother who went in at Gold beach, through to the battle of the bulge and then liberated a concentration camp so you could be a snot arse communist?

Is it just me or does the Kawasaki Ki-61 look like a Jap knockoff of a P-51 Mustang?

What a disgrace for Mercedes to only make some lame arse rifles. I was expecting Panzers or Messerschmitts.

Its more of a knock off of the German Bf109. Licensed built copy of the Daimler Benz DB 601 powered the Ki-61.
