I have been divorced for nearly 15 years and a lot of women take it upon themselves to do everything in their power to make the ex irrelevant. I am sorry you are having to deal with it but if you don’t stand firm it will only get worse

Mentally fragile? PPD exists, but is a great excuse, like it was for Andrea Yates.

Hmmm... I don't know. I've seen women come out the other side of pregnancy basically different people. The flood of hormones during and the withdrawal after seems to flip a switch in some women. Friends and coworkers struggle to understand wtf happened to their wives and try to work with them to figure it out. It's not always cheating but maybe they are just miserable to be around by being mean or depressive.

I have seen no pattern in the women on which ones will be affected so you can't blame the man for "picking wrong". It seems like it's winning some shitty lottery.

There's no reason you can't do 50/50. Get to work on being a dad.

You are a retarded POS. There are plenty of reasons why a dad that wants to try, can't.

i'll give you this.. I should have said "try" to do 50/50. I can't speak for Texas, but Louisiana has defaulted on the side of 50/50 for a while now... assuming the father requests it and has a job that allows for it (not military abroad etc).

He needs to do the best he can to get the most time he can with his child. It's not easy taking on that role solo for 50% of your life. It'll make work, dating, and exercise harder, but it's the best thing you'll ever do. Before you know it they'll be 15 and wanting to hang with their friends instead of their dad... put in the work now (as best as OP can).

You sound like a poor dumb bastard that hasn't been through a divorce yet, and doesn't know how this works. Kindly excuse yourself

I've been through a divorce. These are just some of my takeaways. You don't have to believe them or care, but blaming him for "picking wrong" is mean and absolutely adds nothing as that ship as sailed.

I can take her back to court on that in due time. I don’t think I have the time available to successfully have 50-50. Work keeps me busy.

The longer this goes on, the less of an argument you're gonna have for more custody

I agree with this post. Now is the time to act. Cut back on work some if you can or rearrange your schedule.

As a bonus, the child custody payments will be reworked to account for a more equitable time arrangement.

Let the child decide. It’s a child.

My buddies daughter called him “da-da” and every adult man she trusted “paw paw” including her actual paw paw.

There’s potential for all of you to suck.
A. Making a kid call the step dad “dad” is a shite move.

B. Making a kid STOP calling a step dad, “dad” is messed up.

C. Correcting your kid days after the fact that they should NOT call him dad is a dick move. No 3 year old will understand why. They will only get that they are wrong EVERYWHERE.

The kid will call u both what they want.

Tough situation that she is putting both of you in. If I’m the stepdad I would not be cool with her doing so.

Pretty much sums it all up right here, sounds like the little girl needs someone to call dad who prioritizes her over work
