Everyone wants to blame the media, but it seems the CDC and W.H.O are fueling this fire.

I'm guessing after H1N1 they did a "what could we have done differently" analysis and updated their protocols and recommendations that would be used in certain circumstances the next time something popped up.
The media isn't the one suggesting all these social distancing closures. That's the W.H.O and C.D.C. And politicians and community leaders are following suit with recs.
No we have this shite show.

Yeah, this is inconvenient and not fun, but this is the kind of shite you need to get down as best as possible for when a more lethal virus makes its way into society, and at some point, it no doubt will.

Do you not understand what's going on? They are trying to stop the spread of a deadly virus. A virus that is having a 7% fatality rate in Italy right now.

In 2009, there were up to 1.4 billion worldwide cases of the Swine Flu in the one year it was a global pandemic.
For the coronavirus, since the breakout in Wuhan, China months ago, there are 132,536 confirmed cases worldwide.
With the swine flu, there were up to 575,000 deaths worldwide associated with disease over the course of the entire pandemic.
Months into the coronavirus there have been 4,947 deaths worldwide.
In the United States, there were 61 million cases of confirmed swine flu.
Now that's over a year vs 4 months. But...

I understand exactly what they are doing, but at what cost?
You know how many people are going to be bankrupted without government assistance due to this?
Tons of people live paycheck to paycheck and have already lost their jobs basically.
Im doing my part and staying at home except for work. Only way to stop this is to get numbers to go down.

Swine flu in the US-61,000,000 cases: 12,469 deaths.-.02 death rate.
Corona Virus currently has a death rate around 1%. We obviously will not have those final numbers as many cases are still active. Could you imagine if they had 61,000,000 cases with a 1% death rate. That is 610,000 people. Thats why they are shutting things down to stop the spread because this thing is 10x deadlier than the flu.

And I’ve seen projections from MIT Tech that says if we don’t social distance based on the recommendations, in this country alone, we could have 210 million cases with one and a half million dead.
Now that’s doomsday to the max, but this is contagious as hell. Some are overboard, some are way to casual. I don’t think these recommendations are that severe and following them shouldn’t be that hard, but people want to whine they are special and their lives shouldn’t be inconvenienced.
These recommendations are a sensible approach, and people need to accept the reality of what they are dealing with and be adults about it.
