I don’t have a medical degree do you? You know who does though. Anthony Fauci the top immunologist in the country who says lifestyle restrictions is a way to stop the spread. I can also name about ten others who have medical degrees who have said stuff along the same lines.

If nothing was done and more and more people were catching it and flooding the hospitals people would be complaining wondering why "the government" hasn't done anything about it.. Because the hospitals are filled up and they can only care for so many people, etc, etc.
People are going to complain either way, so its best to take the "better safe than sorry" approach.
And this is different from H1N1 just because they don't know as much about it yet. And again, this is more about managing resources than anything. They are trying to limit the amount of people who will catch it so they don't overload hospitals, etc..
