many close calls only one hit. Hit a doe one morning before daylight on Hwy 22 in Bedico. no real damage, turned around looked for her but no luck.

I was driving on a rural country road in Louisiana early one morning. I noticed something standing tall up ahead by a mailbox. My first thought was “why is this old woman standing on the side of the road in the dark at 4 am.” When I got closer it turned sideways and I saw it was a deer. It then tried to cross the road right in front of me. I swerved hard to the right and the deer hits my driver side door head on. Left a small dent there and messed up my back bummer a little but not too bad.

Never hit a deer, but a couple of close calls. Did hit a wild turkey once that destroyed my windshield.
Mom swerved to avoid a deer once and lost control of the car and hit a tree. Luckily she was only going around 30 mph so she wasn't injured too bad. Broke her hand, few cuts that needed stitches and she was sore as hell for a few weeks.

About 10 years ago while going about 80. Did 12k damage to my car.

I’ve been in a car that hit a deer at least three times.

Yep .. going 10 mph down a country road looking for my dog that had gotten out ... buck jumped a ditch into my driver side door (back seat door). He shook it off and ran away. Left my SUV with a concave door.

Nope. On a highway outside of Toowoomba, New South Wales.

A deer jumped into the side of my car on Tigerbend years ago. Crushed in driver side door so bad it wouldn’t open.

Have mowed down a number of deer but not in the past several years. Last one was with my Avalanche. Hit the thing at 65 MPH dead center of the truck. Fortunately just cracked the bumper cover and lost the front plate. I didn't even slow down or stop but kept an eye on the gauges for a couple miles.

I had a big doe try to attack me once when I was walking the dog. Got up on its hind legs and started ‘boxing’. I stayed composed, latched onto one of the arms and snapped it with a quick spin using all my weight. It limped off back into the woods. Crazy experience. Truly once in a lifetime moment.

I would say this though:
It's better to hit the deer/animal than lose control of your vehicle trying to avoid hitting the animal. The neighbor's kid, who I tutor in math, learned this the hard way....coming down off of of the mountains around here she swerved to avoid hitting one...and flipped the car onto its roof. Car was totaled...and 3 girls shook up bad. Deer lived.

Never a deer. Did hit a cow once going 45 down a backroad. Was driving an old F150 and the only thing it did was knock out part of the grill.
Wife had one run into the side of her vehicle last summer and did 3000 in damage.

Yes. Last week between New Roads and St Francisville. Almost a direct hit but I swerved and it left a small dent in the front passenger quarter panel. Big arse doe.

Only twice! They’re thick in my area . I probably have 10-20 in my yard now . You have to be careful especially at night

When I was in the army I was riding shotgun in a Humvee. I was helping LT bring some stuff to Camp Shelby from Polk.
So it’s late at night and we are on some pitch black highway. He turns to me and says, “Y’know... I’ve never had a deer run out in front of me. You ever hit a deer?”
BOOM!!!!!’
I swear that thing looked like it had swilled a claymore. Humvee blew it apart.
