Whatever you do, don't give them milk. Pet stores carry mother's replacer milk that can be put in a dropper if necessary. It can also be mixed in with wet food specifically for kittens if they are able to eat on their own at all.

I adopted a kitten I thought had been weaned. Turned out she was barely 5 weeks old and unable to eat on her own at all. I had to feed her with a dropper for several weeks all hours of the day and night. She was the most loyal kitty for 16 years. You become a "mother figure" to them when you feed them that way, for lack of a better term.

Thanks for rescuing them. Maybe your wife will warm up to a few.

Friend down the street has owned cats all her life and is on her way over to check them and give me pointers. She said she'll probably end up leaving with one. I told her they were black and white, and she squealed she's always wanted a tuxedo kitten.

That's great news! She'll know what to do, then, to help you out. Hopefully, she falls in love with at least one. I love tuxedo kitties. I have one currently. My third tuxedo.

Good advice, really!

The vet will give you some excellent advice tomorrow, because age depends on the teeth, not the body-size, especially if under-nourished. I know zilch about bottle-feeding the "mother's replacement milk" but it sounds like they may be on the line of transitioning.

The room needs to have some warmth too, not under an A/C vent blowing hard and set on 68-F. Do what you can to warm up their box/space a little bit.

And please get some calories in them, sorry to repeat that, but one way or another, don't let them go to bed tonight without at least a few gulps of cat food juice/gravy.

She thinks they're about 5-6 weeks old, and felt they need to be on replacer milk and soft food. So I'm going to pet store to get both in a few. She's going to take one, and split vet bill with me, but she felt they should stay together for a few days to get adjusted.

I don't know if my cat was abandoned but I picked her off the shoulder on Interstate 10 near Lacassine heading west. She was about 5 to 6 weeks old. She is a great kitty.

You did the right thing!

I did the same. I had a flat tire where 385 and 240 meet in Memphis during rush hour. I saw what I thought was a rat dodging traffic going 80 mph, when it got over to the concrete divider where I was I realized it was a 5 week old kitten. That was 2 years ago in June, still have her and haven't had an issue with mice/rats since

I hate cats.

However, we rescued one that the kids found in the neighborhood. It was damn near dead when they found it and it took a VERY large vet bill to save it. It is the best cat I've ever been around. She's actually more like a dog than a cat. It loves me for some reason and follows me around. Absolutely kills the shite out of small rodents.

Sounds like a good plan and the vet will confirm whatever else you need to know. Best of luck!

Animal control will take kittens. They are easy to place and much easier to deal with before they are feral.

We found a cat under a tractor about 3 years ago. We brought it home and I told my daughter that we were not keeping it.

We tried to find it a home and no luck.

We took it to the shelter where they could find him a home. My daughter cried and I explained that rules are rules.

Three weeks later, I find that my daughter has been on the website every day checking to see if he was adopted.

He never got adopted and they took his picture off the website.....

.....right after I drove my daughter back to the shelter and paid for the exact same kitten I gave them three weeks earlier.

That is how you put your foot down in your home gentlemen.

Truth be told, I have gotten attached to this neurotic cat. He is fun to play with and purrs and sleeps on my head.

I have gotten attached to one of them already. We are going to keep it. Neighbor is taking another, and she thinks her daughter will take the third one.

It’s funny watching my female boxer with them. I guess her maternal instincts kicked in because she doesn’t let them out of her sight and lets them pounce all over her.

When we where kids my mom dropped off books in the books return box at the library. Heard them crying. Some body had put a bag of kittens in there. Pretty disgusting

Most of the people I know that hate cats are pieces of shite, male and female. Just an observation on the matter.

At least they put them where they could be found and not tossed in a river.

But it's still shitty.
