Events In Louisiana (and the U.S) Since 2005

If we look beyond Louisiana and rewind to the beginning of the 21 century, there have been events that has changed the way of life in the US.
2000- Dot.com bubble busted
2001- 9/11
Enron bankruptcy
Since 2000 there have been at least 34 mass shootings in the US.
All these events have shaped our current society to some degree. Obviously 9/11 has the biggest impact.
As for as Louisiana since 2005 these are events that has happened:
2005- Katrina & Rita
2008- Gustav- The recession, which started in Dec 2007 started to have an impact on La in 2008.
2010- Oil Spill
2015- Shooting in Laf Theatre
2016- March Floods
Police Shootings
August Floods
Am I leaving anything out?
Either way, will there be a long term psychological issue that has and will come from all of this?
When you think back to modern history (lets say 20th Century US & Louisiana history) what major events other than WWI, the great recession, WWII, Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam, Cold War, & Gulf War had an impact on shaping our society?

I'm may be trying to read into your post too much, but it seems as if you are saying 'large impactful' events have been stacked in more recent history than in the past.
Certainly the world is flatter than ever before and the impacts from one region/nation to another are felt across the world. I think the frequency of these 'events' have always been there but access to the the news, social media, and the interconnectedness of our markets have exacerbated the consequences.
How will that affect us going forward? More regulation, more fear, more reaction.

Well there have been more natural disasters, however; I know that crime in the US is down compared to the 1990s. This is really more about discussion.

Agree. What will our kids learn about 100 years from now? To be honest, rightfully or wrongfully, they probably won't hear about Columbine, Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, or the police shootings in BR. They are significant now and will be remembered by our current generation forever, but that doesn't mean they will make waves in the ocean of history.

2007 LSU double murder of Indian Grad students. One of the trigger men got completely off, another one is still in jail on 3 other separate murders, and the last TPOS copped a plea deal to plead guilty to armed robbery in exchange for 32 years to testify against the shooters. They had all three in custody that killed those poor Indian guys and one is walking around a free man. What a joke of a legal system in BR, an absolute joke.
Hopefully all three of TPOS burn in hell for what they did.
