Goodhue Police Department consisted of the Chief, one full time officer and five part time officers.

In all fairness, what do you think defund the FBI is?

Just two ideological groups feeling attacked and crying abt it.

you are truly asserting this would have happened if you psychos had NOT pushed to defund police? Seems you might have some cognitive dissonance issues. Thanks for playing the poster boy for dumbs.

That neighboring cities would pay more? That is not particularly unheard of and there’s no indication that this city had participated in any defunding

Probably wasn't a big push to defund the police in this middle of nowhere town of 1000 people.

You honestly did more to prove my point than I believe you intended. The amazing part is, you’re not smart enough to have realized it until it was too late, and yet I guarantee you think you’re smarter than anyone who disagrees with you politically.

the six officers literally resigned over funding.

You do know that “defunding” and a dispute over funding are not the same thing, right?

Running backs in the NFL right now are upset about their compensation and rightfully so. No one is claiming that running backs are being “defunded”

What I'm saying is the police are telling you they are resigning over funding.

One political party has run on "Defunding the police".

IF you can't see there is correlation, maybe you aren't as bright as you think.

The County of Goodhue voted for Trump 56% to Biden's 41%. But I suppose yay, talking points...

Why are you acting vapid? They resigned because they want pay raises. You're acting like they had wages taken away.

First of all, you’re making a correlation that fits your narrative. Defunding the police has nothing to do with this situation - you just want it to. It’s a majority republican county and the less than 10 staff (most part time) felt they were underpaid and resigned. As is their right. And if they turn out to be correct, they’ll be paid properly. Or someone will take their position at their current pay and that’s that.

Second, I’m exactly as bright as the bulb in the drawer as I think I is.

Nice red herring.

How did you ascertain from an article that I'm a liberal/leftist who supports the Defund The Police movement? Because I don't.

I have never advocated for Defending The Police. I'm not a leftist. I'm pro Back The Blue 90% of the time.

Like I said earlier, you and others are damaged permanently. You are so ate up w/politics that it's consumed you in everything you do and think.

But since you want to make it political:

Sounds like Mayberry. And Barney left Andy hanging.

Calling a two person force a police department seems a bit like dressing up a couple of guys with six shooters.

Politics aside, who would want to work in law enforcement anyways?
Low pay, dealing with whacked out meth heads, trying not get shot by some drunk wife beater when you respond to a domestic disturbance, criminals back on the street before your next shift, ect.

I'm pointing out the obvious. The mayor has decided not to "fund" the police pay package to be competitive with surrounding municipalities.

quote:

"Trying to hire at $22 an hour, you're never going to see another person again walk through those doors," Smith told the council. He said smaller departments pay at least $30 an hour.

So wait, they are still funding the police department? Just not at a wage the officers like? But they didn’t lower their wages or lay anyone off?

Well holy shite. When annual bonuses in my firm come around in a couple months, if it doesn’t meet my standards and expectations, they fricking defunded me!

Do you even understand the definition of the word “defund”?
