Goodhue County voted Republican, 56.1% to 41.2% in the last Presidential election. It's a conservative leaning area. Cops resigned over pay. Doesn't hurt to do a little research first.
This is political talk I mean the OT.
That kind of logic isn’t welcome here.

who is bending things? I concede the county is red leaning. This isn't a county issue. It's a city of Goodhue issue. If surrounding police forces are paying $30.00 per hour and the city of Goodhue is paying nearly 1/3 less, they are not properly funding their law enforcement officers.

And now please explain how this has anything to do with liberals wanting to defund the police.
Or, I can give you an out. You had a knee jerk reaction and saw the title of a thread that you thought fit your political agenda, and you jumped on it. It happens to all of us. A simple “my bad” will suffice.

Most of you all need to understand that a large majority of the geographic population in Minnesota despises far-left policies. Most of the country equates the beliefs of the urban population to all Minnesotans rather than it being isolated lunatic, left-thinking. You drive 20-30 minutes in any direction away from the center of the Twin cities, you meet down-to-Earth Americans. It’s unfortunate that, like a lot of states, the major cities are their face.

We notice you aren't using the word "defund" anymore.

this country is on its last leg….I mean just look at all the arguing daily on TD. People that used to get along no longer do. Face it people we need a divorce. A nonviolent divorce. We can’t coexist anymore. Let’s just get it over with. The trannies, people seeking reparations, the covidians, pedophiles, and atheist can go live in y’all’s utopia

by not "funding" they are in essence "de-funding". it's a distinction without a difference.
if you were being paid one third under market value, would you be "paid" or "under-paid"?

the six officers literally resigned over funding.
Yes, and in this Republican county was that an intentional defunding of police as a result of the last 3 years or was it simply a smaller tax base than the big departments nearby?
Is literally every officer who leaves any force for a higher pay rate the result of liberal defunding?

Speechless
I suppose you think never having Amazon Prime is the same as having it for a year and then canceling.

Don’t you know that every police organization after the highest funded one has been defunded, obviously

I mean this with all sincerity and no judgment. Have you been tested? I’m concerned you may require a helmet and don’t currently own and operate one.

it's not bigger departments.
here is a quote from the sheriff.
quote:
"Trying to hire at $22 an hour, you're never going to see another person again walk through those doors," Smith told the council. He said smaller departments pay at least $30 an hour.
jesus h christ. you libs are certainly delicate.

Was the NOPD strike of 1979 caused by "defund the police" of 2020?

The highest salaried person that shares your position at a company is the only person being paid.

not that particular movement. but it was caused over inadequate funding.

I’m truly trying to help you.
Quit doubling down on stupid. Either just say “ah shite man my bad I was wrong” or log off the internet for the day. Either option is acceptable.
If you keep defending an indefensible position, we as the internet may have to do the unthinkable and call your mother and tell her to revoke your computer time for the next couple weeks

Smaller than what is typical. Those that resemble the one in his city. Not smaller in comparison to his.

what exactly am I wrong about?
is the city of Goodhue offering a competitive pay package to it's police force? well, actually they no longer have a police force.
if the disagreement was over a few percentage points it would be one thing. but they are underpaying by 27%.
