Guess they filed and deposited their limits to avoid any excess judgments for bad faith issues.
Why do the parents of the deceased who were married have standing to make a claim?

Lawyers are the worst. Being sarcastic about not being able to bring her back and using that to poke fun at the situation sums you and yours up. It’s all about money. Don’t try to play it up anything more than that. You don’t give a frick about making anyone whole. You just want forty percent. You are quite witty though so that’s cool.
While there are times when counsel is not always needed in some claims this kind of situation is complex and the survivors should retain counsel .
The only exception might be if they were not interested in prolonging the matter and would accept an offer and just try to get on with their life. This does not contemplate whether they received what they may have been due by legally established quantum value, but just a personal decision not to prolong the matter.
Plane crashes involve multiple sources of potential liability or shared liability, ownership, agency etc. which are best navigated by counsel.

this entire thing makes me super uncomfortable. I feel for the family, but that’s all I have to say

Flying on small, private aircraft is extremely dangerous. Private planes, jets, and helicopters go down ALL THE TIME.
it's a great luxury, but also a great risk.
unless the pilot was proven to be drunk or suicidal, then 99% of these lawsuits are bull shite and a money grab.
I agree. It’s a sad story all around but she took a risk and unfortunately it cost her. If her life was really worth so much financially to her husband, then he should have taken out an insurance policy on her to cover it.

it's interesting to see the difference in opinions between the Vanessa Bryant lawsuit and this one.
the same people who are opposed to Vanessa Bryant's lawsuit somehow 100% agree with this one .... guess the whole "because LSU" makes everything "right"
Really does look that way
I must be blind, because it sure seems like even more people are coming out against this than the Vanessa Bryant one..
I don't care which either of them do.
I seem to remember a ton of people taking up for Vanessa or at least understanding.

It’s not necessarily about curing anything. It’s about holding someone liable for their wrongful conduct if any existed. That is how you deter that wrongful conduct in the future by the same actor or a different one and hopefully people are not injured in similar fashion in the future

I went to the post on on Feu Follet on Thursday and thought about the crash. When I came out, I saw 2 different groups of people walking through that field, looking like they were looking for something.

I am confused why there is push back in this thread. The husband files a negligence claim, if the FAA finds negligence he gets the insurance and damages. If they don’t, he should get the insurance claim. Or have to sue the insurance company separately. Right? Seems pretty standard unless I am missing something here?
this situation is clearly the opposite of a "frivolous" claim or a Gordy Mac fender bender with $500 in soft tissue injuries
but this one guy wants to die on the hill of "emotions" aka, mental suffering can't be actual suffering

But you'd think it would settle without lawsuit and publicity.
if it was all clear this would have happened. with the other suit, it seems like there is a lot of blame shifting so might as well get discovery started

I’ve seen people on here say they don’t get why Catholic Church sexual abuse victims should get payouts. Lots of fricking idiots on this website.

........because that is an adequate comparison.
