My annual urologist check was this morning, what a thrill. I was sitting in the waiting room and a tall black, very black man came in. He saw me sitting there with a mask and said "excuse me, I forgot to put my mask on". He reached in his pocket, pulled a mask out and put it on.
I noticed his accent was very unusual, not like Jamaican, I don't think I ever heard it before. I said "you have an unusual accent".
He said he was from Nigeria, and he proudly said that tomorrow would be 10 years since he became an American citizen. I asked him if he was having 2nd thoughts with all the trouble now, he said "people are stupid, they should spend some time in Uganda or Romania, I was there for a while. I came here with $300, now I have 6 rental houses and a remediation company."
I was called to the back for my appointment, but I would have loved to have heard the rest of his story.
I don't want to be a sunshine pumper, some people have had a tough hill to climb, but race isn't the only hurdle.

My anecdotal observation is that African Americans and African immigrants often don't like one another that much.

That’s what happens when you have a mindset that anything is possible in this country instead of being told you are a victim and can’t succeed because of the white man.

Nigerian immigrants are better off than most whites.
It is a little known piece of data that MSM and politicians don't want the public to know.

He'll buy his 7th house with his reparation money.

I know a few immigrants that have thoughts on the current situation and they can all be summed up like this:
"Americans are spoiled. Anyone can make it here if they work for it. Even the homeless here can have a good life"
The ease of opening a business here amazes them as well as how plentiful food is and people willing to help one another.

I hope you threw him a compliment. Maybe like applaud him on accomplishing a lot for a "very black" person?

Nope. The most common hurdle to climb across the globe is communism or corrupt Govt. Ask any everyday Ugandan what their greatest hurdle is.
Half our population wants that form of govt here.
