My group message is debating about engagement rings. We all agree on one thing, the "3 month salary" rule is pretty dumb. But we getting into the discussion on Real Mined Diamonds vs Lab Made Diamonds.

Anyone who gives a crap about where you got the diamonds, how much they cost or what kind they are is a piece of human trash.

Don't care. Real diamonds, lab diamonds, CZ, Moissanite, whatever the hell else they have out there. Would make no difference to me. I just wouldn't want a colored stone because I'm a boring human being and hate most colors.

I got a 1 carat moissanite for my fiance. It was about $500 on a white gold band. She has never asked for grading papers and I've never talked about it. She thinks it's a big old diamond. We're both really happy with this.

This is weird. None of my guy friends and I discussed engagement rings that we were getting our wives. Do what's comfortable for you and your budget. If your girl isn't shallow or high maintenance, it doesn't have to be super exorbitant.
