I can’t wait until the government bans guns and everyone willingly hands them over.

Friday night, the entire length of the Magazine route was patrolled by the JPSO. Actually, the entire route was a nice crowd, even around and beyond Jackson Avenue.

You are right about the marijuana, it was disgusting. What needs to happen is all of the respectable parades should just start going on Veterans.

That would solve it quickly. Zero weed anywhere around Veterans, I’m sure. I have the easiest solution of all. Don’t go.

I was at Carrollton by Winn Dixie - no issues. I had 30 family members eating, drinking, kids playing football in parking lot and having a good time. I saw no issues. I did smell weed everywhere I went but weed isn’t a big deal me. I don’t smoke it but I don’t care if others do. Never feared for my life and never saw anyone look like a gang member. I walked all over and drove down Orleans Ave to 610 loop at 9 pm. No issues. I saw families of people just trying to have a good time like us. I have never seen what people have talked about at any parade and have never been afraid. Our vehicles weren’t broken into either. Idk?

Am I reading this right? “Nobody can tell me what guns I can own, but there are people I don’t want owning guns.”

Endymion needs to move to an uptown route like everyone else; I felt much safer on Napoleon.

Pass. I enjoy my easy Saturday night and not having the crowds you described coming Uptown.

Won't matter the bad element will just follow the parade wherever it goes.

This sounds like typically parade behavior for as long as I can remember. It sounds like you got older and have a daughter to look out for - so your opinion has changed.

I watched the day parades next to mothers on Tchoup and left when Endymion started because my kids are young and they were done. Never felt unsafe even walking with 3 young kids. I guess the roving gangs with machine guns were still carjacking everyone on canal and they just hadn’t made it to me yet.

Same. We were on Carrollton right by Bienville and didn't see any of what OP said. A little bit of weed maybe but not gangs of yutes with Glocks
