Did you read the dudes tweet? He explains why it helps.
Mark Cuban is wrong. He has his conclusion and is reaching for reasons to support it. There's no evidence to back him his claims. Musk is the most successful business man in generations. His take is probably better when it comes to business decisions.

Same reason you may hire outside of the most qualified. Potential, cost, gut feel.
Are you arguing team fit isn't part of qualified? Lmao.

I don't think so.
Could list 50 reasons not to hire the "most qualified"
Could list 50 reasons not to hire the "most qualified"

Do any of them have to do with race or gender?

I read his entire string of tweets on the subject and I couldn’t assign one mildly interesting thought to it. Like he’s hosting an exceptionally soulless TED talk about corporate circle jerking. That’s his entire persona now and it’s laaaame.

If the short asian woman can ball then why not? Cuban didn't say hire unqualified people
So you think the point of DEI is to hire the most qualified people? You are a liar

Cuban was in the right place at the right time with Broadcast.com. There's a reason it was called the "dot com bubble". He sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo in 1999 during the peak of the bubble for $5.7 billion a year after it generated only $13 million in revenue. I am not saying Cuban is a moron but an argument could be made he got very lucky.
I do realize he sold another business before that but that was for a few million. He made $2 million on that deal. Nothing like the billions he made fleecing Yahoo.

Mark Cuban becomes more and more unlikable each time I read what he says.

I don't think it stands by hiring the most qualified, but certainly doesn't mean hiring unqualified people.
The only “qualification” they are looking for is skin color. Kinda the opposite of MLK’s dream.

Except DRI by nature doesn't push the most qualified person, it prioritizes racial quotas and gender quotas. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find good employees? Then HR only hands you resumes of non white male prospects, cutting your hiring pool to a very low number. These decisions should be based on qualifications alone.

Do DEI practices have to result in a minority hire? Is that the only result?
Yes. That’s the point.
You failed at DEI if your company is majority white. You were hired to fix that problem and the image of being run by old white males.
And what we are trying to tell you is that it’s a dumb practice because you will sacrifice quality for diversity.
Just like it would be dumb for an nba team not to just get the best players available and not worry about the skin shade.
Do you believe they don’t put women because they hate women? Or is it because there may not be a single one that could hack an nba season? DEI means you got to include all the genders.

That kind of makes sense, but unfortunately the worst people to possibly run for president, might actually be running against each other again so it really doesn't matter what happens.

No, they don't want to be detrimental to their business by hiring unqualified people so they hire qualified individuals.
The idea of DEI isn't to sacrifice quality for diversity. It is that you are looking amoungst groups you wouldn't normally look.
Think of it like Barry Switzer's recruiting practices at Oklahoma. Go get the guys everyone else isnt even looking at.

You do realize the minorities you worship hate you more than a redneck white dude? Your self-loathing isn't prevalent in any other demographic other than weak, progressive white men. You're prey to them, not an ally.

I don't think anyone has ever described me as self-loathing. I guess it is still narcissism though.

MUSK IS THE MAN, FRICK MARK CUBAN, he’s a punk, sarcastic POS that thinks he’s smarter than everyone. This is a great stance by Elon, and so true the double standard
