The elementary school doors are always locked. They have to buzz you in at the door.
GF teaches elementary in Orlando and they have armed resource officers and doors locked unless buzzed in twice. Only one way in

teacher stood on a chair, pushed up a ceiling tile and retrieved the gun
wonder if you'd feel differently if while said teacher was retrieving the illegally placed gun, he fumbled it, dropped it, causing an accidental discharge and it injured or killed someone in that classroom... or it just randomly fell from it's, again, illegal placement, through the roof, again, causing discharge and possible tragedy... or if one of the kids that he showed that to went off the deep end, snuck in the room one day, and then proceeded to use said illegally placed gun to commit a similar act, as today...
food for thought...

Apparently your son did.

Right. If anybody can keep a secret, it's high school kids. One of which (your son) has already told his parents.

It’s a tipping point issue in regards to how pathogenic these actions are when one kicks it all off.
Yeah. Lots of copy-cats. They do seem to come in runs.

When it happens all the time it’s not coming in runs. It’s a National crisis.

Damn shame I can't even imagine
However unless this douche is a White Hispanic this will be out of the news pretty quick

According to the San Antonio subreddit, the shooter killed his mom who was a teacher at the school. He then killed a bunch of her students. Pure evil.

Schools will need metal detectors at every entrance now. It's a high cost but I wouldn't mind my tax dollars going to that. They already go to A LOT worse.
Metal detectors? May as well post more “gun free zone” signs.
Only thing that’s stops this are armored guards with AR-15s at any entrance. That would deter a shooter if there was someone there trained and equally gunned.

Absolutely horrific news and I'm heartbroken for those personally affected. Praying for this community. Come Lord Jesus.

Hard to believe he could hurt/kill at least 28 with a hand gun.
It’d be harder to do than with a rifle but certainly not impossible. I have a pistol that holds 20 rounds.

I have several elementary aged kids and this makes me physically ill. I can barely read about it.
But I do want to know how he got in. After Sandy Hook, I thought every elementary changed protocols to be buzzed. I know my kids’ school is a fortress. Actually a pain in the arse when I need to get them early for whatever reason, but I understand why it is that way and it makes me feel better. Also have an armed resource officer at the door.

They are reporting he actually killed 14 kids and a teacher, is this accurate? Or just typical bad news reporting
