Just like the old adage states: Women and elephants never forget. And Murphy ain’t no elephant!

Eddie Murphy is my favorite comedian, but he needs to shut the fricking frick up.

I just love when comedians in generals get offended about certain jokes. Eddie Murphy, for example, will make jokes about whites, Hispanics, Jews, etc., but the one joke David Spade makes draws the line for you?

It's the comedians job to make people laugh. If they can make jokes, then they should be able to take it too.

I always liked Eddie’s comedy but he is soft as wet toilet paper. How the hell was it racist, Lebron?

huge chunk if the Raw material that made Eddie famous would be considered racist and grounds for cancellation today. Maybe he should lay low.

Good lord. The whole Gay Cop and Mr. T in prison bit would set todays fragile world on fire.

This is racist? Eddie Murphy should be ashamed of himself as a comedian.

I mean, that's at least arguably true. People forget just how fricking big of a star EM was in the late 80s/early 90s. In an era that generated tons of big name Hollywood stars (Murray, Chevy, Akroyd, Sandler, Rock, Farley, Myers, Carvey, etc.) Eddie Murphy was arguably the biggest.

Is it? Five years ago I called a buddy that while laying under a vehicle installing new arms. He kept handing me the wrong wrenches on purpose.

Right after calling him a Ni*** arse NI*** we hear a loud laugh from the door of the shop.

I slide the creeper out and the UPS guy is doubled over laughing. He was there for nearly the entire exchange. We're still friends to this day.

two comedians had a falling out after Spade, 59, made a joke about Murphy on “Saturday Night Live” that Murphy felt was “racist.”

So being black means that any disparaging statement or joke made about you is deemed racist? How many honky jokes has Eddie made? Talk about privilege.

I see no racism here but maybe there was something more between them.

This is a super random story - while I guess I assumed they were both still alive (though have never once thought about it before), I haven't seen these dudes in public in quite a while.

I’m sure spade pissed off a ton of people. He wrote well and is the king of “that little pip squeak” persona. But the joke was wrong. Eddie ended up with more classics afterwards. Can’t believe Eddie cried about that.

You can’t make me dislike Spade. He’s one of those people where if I just look at him I laugh.

David Spade would have been great at Weekend Update. Unfortunately for him, the GOAT Norm had that spot while Spade was there.

Spade had the misfortune of being there during the Dennis Miller, Kevin Nealon, and Norm MacDonald runs at Update. Nealon is underrated as a very deadpan Chevy Chase style Update host.

Wasn’t like he was there under Colin Quinn, who had good material and is supposedly a great guy but didn’t match the quality of the last few hosts if only in delivery.
