Takes 6 batteries to really work.

6x$499 =$3000 in batteries that weigh 45lbs total… that may last a few years???

How the frick is this better??

If it’s anything like the push mower, it chokes on any kind of weeds and drains the batteries.

I've used the same Honda push mower for 10 years, never an issue. One tank cuts the yard.

I've had the same Toro with a Briggs and Stratton for 10 years too. I don't care about my carbon footprint to be honest.

No they don't. Electric motors don't choke like gas engines. I have had Honda's and Ego's and Ego mowers never choke no matter what you give them. Sure the battery might not last as long but they will power through some shite that would choke out a Honda. There are valid criticisms of Ego mowers, but this is not one.

Honda gas mower here but I do have an ego set of yard equipment. Will always have gas mower though.

Have a craftsman bought in 2005 I’ve never changed the battery on and had no major issues. Guarantee it is less drain of natural resources than this eco rig that will end up a big pile of plastic in landfill when you can’t buy the (environmentally unfriendly) batteries anymore.

No they don't.

Have a midgrade Ryobi push mower that begs to differ.

My last one rusted out due to a leak in my shed at my old house. It was 10 years old too and otherwise it still ran fine. I bought the same mower when we moved. I have a cordless battery powered drill I guess.

My electric push mower absolutely chokes out and stalls in heavy grass or leaves. But I only use it to cut and clear under the ligustrums and azaleas where the Deere won’t fit.

If I had a small yard and needed a push mower to actually cut the grass, I would go gas for that. The 40v electric one I have just wouldn’t work for that.

I have the ego push mower and it’s been great for my yard. I have a smaller yard and one one battery is more than enough. It works better than my gas one that crapped out on me, but, then again, I’ve only had it for about a year so we’ll see how long it goes.

Good question regarding the life of the batteries since repeated charging cycles never return the batteries to their original output.

I'm not worried in the least about fossil fuels and I'm a huge fan of horsepower, but

stay with me here...

What if my neighbor's mowers, trimmers, and blowers were virtually silent?

That's real progress.

We have a battery powered weed eater and I bought the tiller attachment for it to till my garden. It repeatedly got stuck anytime it got into dirt that was remotely sticky

Went to harbor freight and got a cheap arse gas tiller for 200 bucks. 2 stroke. So much power it tried to leap out of my hands. Tilled garden in 5 minutes.

Won’t ever buy anything electric powered again

Or hire a yard crew and you don’t even have to bother owning a lawn mower. Sold my Honda self-propelled three years ago this summer. I love coming home to see my perfectly manicured lawn for the low price of $80 every two weeks.

I borrowed my neighbors EGO one weekend when my mower was in the shop.

I ended up getting one, and so did our neighbor across the street. It’s a cluster of us, and it’s definitely noticeable/nice.
