If it’s anything like the push mower, it chokes on any kind of weeds and drains the batteries

I have an Ego push mower and have never had this issue

Also never had a problem with their weed eater, edger, or pole saw

Had all for 3+ years

Ecco weed eater. I've never done anything to it maintenance wise. It might take me a minute to get started occasionally. I just run Trufuel in it so no mixing. I might go through 2 cans per year.
Pretty much anyone who has used an Ego trimmer will tell you they will never buy another gas trimmer (for home use, I can understand lawn guys using gas for now). You are here acting like the occasional minute of annoyance plus burning like $20 in fuel per year plus pouring and storing and restocking it is nothing when the alternative is a trimmer that just works when you pull the trigger and costs 50 cents of electricity per year to run.

At $275 every 6 years for a battery (per the poster on the previous page) that's not really any cheaper than gas and maintenance on my gas mower.

Probably pretty close or at least an insignificant amount of difference to me.

I'm not against the technology, I just personally don't see the benefit.

ETA - and lawn equipment maintenance is about as big of a thought in my budget as flower bed mulch. Who gives a shite

Electricity is awesome. Batteries suck. Fix that problem, and you’re the richest man in the world.

I’m not arguing the price point

I’m just saying he was full of shite about his claim that the Ego push mower “chokes on any kinds of weeds”

I've never used an Ego but my neighbor's Stihl left a lot of what my paw paw called "holidays"
