Eclipse Mania

The media pushed this thing for months. People traveled hundreds and even thousands of miles to get a view of it. Scientists all along the path of the eclipse planned experiments. Efforts have been made to obtain many different ways to safely view the eclipse. Some have worried about possible eye damage if viewed incorrectly. Schools and business closed or work was put on the back burner. There was a lot of nervousness leading up to it. Some people didn't understand it, but most all were excited. Police spent weeks planning how to manage the crowds and limit crime during the influx of eclipse tourism. Newspaper headlines around the world covered the event. The main worry for most was the weather holding out.
All of these things happened during the total eclipse of 1918.

the fervor over this has been so over the top it has been quite comical.

I've been told the world is ending by social media. So that's what I'm planning on seeing today.

I heard that during the eclipse gravity will reverse because of the combined pull of the moon and sun together.

It’s just strange. It happens every 18 months somewhere in the world. So, like, did those places blow up? Like we can easily just take a look at how it went there

THere are a lot of clowns in this world.
This event means nothing and watching it will teach no one anything that will help advance hunmanity.
It is a complete waste of time.

It's kinda funny because there's a line of clouds obscuring the exact path of totality all the way from south texas to NY.

It’s almost as this doesn’t occur every few years somewhere in the world.

It’s almost like God just pranked us all…from the idiots who canceled school and closed their businesses to the idiots who think that this signals the end of days.

Take a picture for Facebook
Nobody else will be doing it
With a “ y’all keep this same energy when Jesus comes back” to really stir up the “amens” and prayer hands emoji engagement

I hear you guys and felt the same way leading up to 2017. It blew my mind, maybe I'm a simpleton, but it was in fact one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Report back after you witness it.
It's an awe-inspiring event.
If you are close to the path of totality and miss it, it's a major fail IMO

Americans have a ridiculous self centered ability to forget that things happen outside of the US
Happens all the time.
