This.
The world needs ditch diggers, too. We can't all have everything everyone else has. If the electric company or water company wants to do this at no rate increase to me, great. If cable, internet, entertainment, etc want to do it, it bothers me. And somewhere down the line, you and I will eat it. Amazon isn't.

There’s a certain political/economic system that thinks we can. It’s always worked out perfectly.

Access to an online shopping mall is what separates us from the animals.

99% of those that hold office or work for the government has a goal of increasing their budget to solve unsolvable problems or more likely ones created by the government itself.

The junk food industry lobbyists would revolt as well.
How much money do corporations make every time a new government program for the poor comes out?

If the government subsidizes their Prime sub then yes we should care but this is most likely a discount for those who prove every 12 months that they are on on EBT.
That's kinda how that works, yea? Taxpayer pays for things that they could be paying for except they're buying a commodity.

They don’t have prime so Amazon is making it back on delivery fee. Smoke and mirrors

Are students so poor they are living off the taxpayers?
Um, yes. Look at how many students are on federal loans, pell grants, living in nice dorms constructed with government money, etc.

So the energy companys are going to take a massive loss so the poors can get cheap shite? C'mon brah - are yuo even aware of what's been going on in the last two weeks?
Entergy gives $150 to the poors.
This money has already been payed for from gouging the frick out of everybody for the last year. As middle class you will not get the freebie.

I hate Amazon, but that might purely be a business decision. I'm guessing poor people are easier to deliver to, on average.

Never...but I have some friend's who were receiving Government assistance at one point.
Would you be opposed to putting a time limit on it let's say 90 days or 6 months? After that the benefits are all done... because that's exactly how most veteran's benefits work.
I'm not heartless to where I think no one deserves a hand but there is massive ratio of abusers versus legit users of the welfare system. Go to your nearest WalMart and take a look around. Anyway, it used to be a hustle to try and game the system. Now they literally have cheat codes and it's a fricking lifestyle and as a libertarian I would think this would make you sick.

The money is supposedly from the United way - and they’re already out of funds anyway

The problem isn’t company’s giving discounts to people who really need it, but rather the millions of people abusing the system to live off of it. Furthermore to a point giving the discounts and “helping” drives more people to be lazy and try to get the free shite they really don’t need.

They spend the money they make on luxury because the government pays for all their basic needs
Our society is upside down. I watched a lady at the store the other day on her iPhone the entire time buy steaks and all kinds of expensive food with a Louisiana purchase card then buy a cart of beer and liquor with cash and load it into her brand new car.
Being “poor” in America is globally upperclass.
We have no concept of hardship or poverty in this country. The slightest economic downturn is going to be a brutal because we’re so coddled the thought of going without luxury is going to cause psychosis and unrest.

I’m saying Amazon would be foolish NOT to accept EBT. The discount membership is a great idea for them. My bigger point was the ridiculous shite that is EBT eligible. Some of these things are flat out luxury items. Really not a smart way to stretch your dollar if you’re on a budget. The whole system is a joke. It’s not about survival and making ends meet until you can improve your position anymore. It’s just a flat out giveaway with zero limits or restrictions.

So instead of 14 dollars a month for Amazon Prime they pay 7?
Sounds like just a trick to bring in new subscribers.
The company will probably make a ton more money in new orders than it will lose in the 84 dollars a year "discount" given to new members many of whom would probably not have signed up if the discount was not there.
From a business standpoint, if I were a business consultant for them, why would I tell them not to do this?

I have been seeing SNAP / EBT / Amazon labeled cars in Houston. They are wrapped in advertising that welfare recipients should use Amazon.
