Anyone with intelligence above snail level knows fixing EBRSB will take more than 8 months.

School boards set general policy, general budgets, approve major contracts, and hire/evaluate/manage/fire a single employee.

They do not run the school system.

With your ideas, you should be a superintendent, not a school board member.

The board hires and fires the superintendent, who runs everything. Can't change anything until a competent person is in charge.

He could be a board member or the supt.

Right now we have a declining student enrollment, but bigger and bigger issues. It’s not money, but a collapse of the system.

The no reason in her resignation is strange. She obviously disliked the superintendent; however, quitting increases his chances at a renewal. So, this whole play is just weird.

So she was just sitting on the couch eating Bonbons watch Days and she decided to run for public office because she was bored? Didn’t do any research, go to school board meetings, nothing?

The only reason I’m pissed about her leaving is she was the thorn in that dip shits side we needed.

Some parishes have this.

The largest enemy of our public schools is ETS.

What is ETS you say ?

EBRPSS supports in having every student going to college.

Why? Because it is the lazy way to run a school system. If all the students are expected to go to college then I don't need a vo tech curriculum. They can be costly.

What do you need to go to college ? Well you need to take the ACT. Who runs the ACT ? (and LEAP testing) ?

It is ETS .

With the internet a student can take the ACT as many times as they wish. It is a money printing program for ETS.

I've personally witnessed high school students make 16 on the ACT over and over many because they did not have the necessary math /English/ history skills that were necessary to make over a 20.

Seeing it firsthand was probably making her realize her party is the problem. A true believer would likely quit to remain in ignorance instead of facing such a revelation head on.

Good for her. Anyone in office who opposes crappy political agendas in Louisiana has 2 choices. 1) beat your head against the wall in a hopeless losing battle. Or 2) give in and become a part of the problem. And far too many well-meaning elected officials here end up choosing #2 once they are faced with the overwhelming truth that politics in Louisiana is rotten to the core. She preferred walking away to either of those choices.
