I'm torn. I hate more taxes and do not trust Broome and friends to not somehow redirect supposedly "untouchable" tax revenue, but many of those projects would be great.

Give me your thoughts, baws.

I don’t trust it. Especially, when I heard that they’re claiming this will do more than a loop would ever do.

If you like giving money to people like Broome go to college by the interstate and hand money out your car window

At least that money would stimulate the economy

I voted yes for it already.

The traffic situation simply can’t be kicked down the road much further, and people hoping for a gas tax increase to fund just the state roads, there’s already opposition towards that building up.

At least 24% of the plan is going to finish Green Light projects and we are already being taxed for them.

Broome is in control. Who knows if she's going to require minority participation? Who knows whose projects will be completed first? Who knows whether the engineers and consultants she hires will be qualified of just a political ally?

Vote no

A certain amount of our current taxes go toward road projects. They say the new tax will only go to road projects. What that really means is that the amount that currently goes toward road projects will now go to something else at the mayor's discretion. This is how they always seem to trick people.

The city parish has contracts now that they do not abide by. Nothing is done to force them to abide by the present contracts. They do what they want.

What makes anyone think the city parish government will not get their hands on this cash and use it for something else?

I abide by the time honored Baton Rouge tradition of bitching about something, voting No on the solution, then bitching about it once more

I would much rather pay more in taxes to upgrade our parks or to demolish BREc

Considering how BR has had just one comprehensive road plan in the last 50 or years, I tend to wonder at what point does that very mindset catch up with the entire area.

I would vote Yes if we could lower or eliminate other taxes like BREC, Libraries, COA etc.

I am voting No. Our taxes are very high for the crappy product we get.

And that road plan is not complete yet and they want to start another plan to help complete that one and start another plan.

Can't we do one at a time?

The flaw in that logic is that what you're voting against is actually a "solution".
