Don’t worry.

They will definitely do it right this time and the money collected will DEFINITELY go to what they promise.

Don’t worry. The tax is for 30 years. It gives them a big window.

It is embarrassing that there are people out there not infuriated by the state of our government and politicians.

Not all of the roads being improved are local. There are state highway projects listed.
Which is why I blame the state more than I do the local government. Whoever is in charge of upgrading a road, be it East Baton Rouge Parish or the state of Louisiana, it's fricking ridiculous how nothing gets done.

Well, it’s clear from all the no votes that the majority are fine with nothing being done to fix the roads.

I still haven’t made up my mind on both tax votes tomorrow. However, most here that are voting no do so because they believe the current levels of taxation are sufficient and road improvements, mental health facilities, etc. can be funded by cutting other non-necessary resources and restructuring the budget.

Or maybe we should force our local government to live within it's means. The city-parish budget is nearly $1B, and the state just found 300million JBE didn't know existed. Let's start there.

Well, it’s clear from posts like yours that people like you don’t care about government wasting money or not fulfilling past promises.

Just like socialists. Don’t worry, they’ll get it right next time.

Eh. These dedicated taxes do get spent on their intended purpose.

The issue here is did the C-P actually make an effort to fund these projects from their existing budget?

I don’t live there anymore and I loathe taxes especially in a state that misuses funds as much as Louisiana.

But BR needs the infrastructure. Badly.

Yes, they do, but they have passed taxes for this very same purpose in the past with no improvements.

Why do people expect this time to be different?

Green Light Plan did yield improvements. It just didn’t go far enough.

How do people not see how this works and how are the people of EBR not in the streets with torches and pick forks? I won't even start on the complete morons that are thinking about voting yes on this or any new taxes for their "leaders" to squander
