Boil and Roux was the provider of brunch. Anyone who's ever had dealings with those asshats could have told you they would frick it up.

I thought these people were used to giving up large sums of money with no return

I'm pretty sure the $55 was to sit "VIP" close to the stage and "brunch" was provided with that. Everything else was general admission and free

Everything changed for Reverend Kanye when his church got tax exempt status from the IRS

Kanye was laughing all the way to the bank with the low IQ, NBR folks.
Kanye didn’t charge anything dumbass. This was an unassociated local vendor. In fact Kanye paid for all of his expenses.
It’s frightening how stupid some of you choose to be, especially when all you have to do is read.

All of Kanye’s services have been free of charge. In fact, he’s donated to many of the church venues he performed at -some churches refused to take his money because “MAGA”. So if you want to call a tax break, making money, then sure

Says more about the clientele...and their ability to reason the whole event/breakfast donation deal.

Careful who you're calling stupid. The unassociated brunch vendor you speak of was also the owner of Affiliate nation, a convicted con artist and the promoter for the event.

He should have gone to Mass. He raps in a dead language through the wire. I can’t understand his gibberish.

think this is all silly, but everyone with a brain knows how these things work. The purpose of a donation is to give money to the church. You aren’t going to get a meal that is actually worth $55 or else their is nothing left for the church.
I’m not trying to pretend that was an acceptable brunch offering... but to act like he was selling $55 pancakes for his own profit isn’t fair either, right?
$55 for VIP seating and some light snacks is downright cheap for an event of this nature though and if Kanye was trying to run some fraudulent get rich quick scheme he’d have been better off just doing a normal concert. This was a publicity grab tour, not a fast cash tour. If there’s a scam for Kanye here it’s in the long game.
Whether the church or vendor use that money appropriately can be a whole different story

Has nothing to do with Kanye. He didn’t contract that vendor. That’s just Baton Rouge and Louisiana being the shitty place it is, ripping folks off every chance they get. Kanye’s “Sunday Services” are free and always have been. You think Kanye wanted this negative press while in the midst of his tour, after everything’s been going relatively well?

If it were free, sure.
But there’s no way you’d pay $55 for what looks like maybe $0.50 worth of food and come away saying that was “fine”.

It’s amazing to me how the celebrity lovefests in this country continue.
Kanye West is the last person in the world I would trust to feed me....spiritually or gastronomically !!!!!

Local organizersat a church service where Kanye West appeared are coming under harsh criticism online for pathetic food offerings prior to the event

Though the church service was free, local organizers charged $55 for a 'Brunchella' breakfast plate before the serviceas a church fundraiser
In other words, this article is about BR “local organizers” and it was clearly a church fundraiser. It boggles my mind that some people would complain about what they got in return for a DONATION. Was that their only option to eat in the city? If you don’t want to make a donation to the church fundraiser then eat somewhere else.

I don't claim to know the accuracy, but the 'flyer' I saw on FB clearly said 'THis is not a free event'. I just glanced at it so it could have been a parody for all I know, but I did see something along those lines.
I assumed that it was a paid to attend event for all. Someone has to pay for utilities, security, stage set up, etc.
