I think the bet was that one of the first scenes would be gay people. Not the very first scene. Couldn't fit it all into the title.

First time I saw two dudes kissing was in NY and I asked my dad why they were doing that.

The disconnect is most of us who don’t have a problem with it don’t really notice it. Genuinely, it registers a bit different but I don’t give it a second thought.
