Back in may I was on I20 30 minutes away from home and there was a wreck. Something flipped a cattle truck and there were dead cows all over. It was going to be a two hour wait. I said frick it and drove 10 miles on the shoulder. Took 15 minutes to get through. The only ppl that seemed to care were truck drivers. Blowing their horns and pulling onto the shoulder to block me. But I just drove further down the embankment.

Why are you mad about ppl driving on the shoulder? It doesn’t affect your life at all.

Happens every day on I-12 East at the Airline South exit, because people either stop in the exit lane to try and get on or drive in it trying to cut in further ahead.

Should be punishable by a $50K fine and a beating in the nearest town square

Every driver you passed gets a punch

If you're talking about Louisiana, they could make the fine $1 million and punishable by death and it wouldn't matter.

Law enforcement in that shite hole state don't enforce things like that.

But you had better make sure your inspection sticker is up to date!

I've only done it once, and I felt like a total a-hole the whole time but I sort of had no choice. We'd gotten stuck behind a wreck on the Basin bridge while on motorcycles, in June, at a complete standstill, without a lick of shade available. Waited a little while to see if it would clear before we couldn't take the heat anymore and got on the shoulder and slowly putting down to the Butte Larose exit and getting off to detour. I hated being that guy, if you were in traffic that day I hope you've forgiven me.

In stop and go construction traffic on I 64 in Virginia last week. Guy on motorcycle coming down center line. VA state trooper 2 cars ahead of me got him. Every car in sight celebrating.

Saw it multiple times yesterday coming from Lafayette to BR. Bumper to bumper and people riding the shoulder... finally a semi moved over and blocked them.

I only got busted because I was driving through a sobriety checkpoint down Corporate Blvd years back.

Officer asks me a series of questions, proceeds to ask me what time it was multiple times. As he tells me to have a good evening, some bitch arse young cop who looked 12, yells to the officer as I'm pulling off, "Hurr dee durr, his inspection sticker is expired!".

I immediately received a $165 ticket.

I hope you keep driving on the shoulder. It’ll catch up with you. You will either end of running someone over and doing hard time for vehicular homicide, or you’ll end up in a major accident.

This is the only exception. If I’m just going to the next exit, and I can see the exit, I will drive on the shoulder at a slow speed to safely exit.

AAA estimates about 600 fatalities per year are due to people illegally driving on the shoulder.

I am in awe of the narcissism and disregard for other people and the rules. At first I thought this was satire. I hope this poster does not have children.

I’ve done this one time. Once.

Two absolute jackass truck drivers were locked together, side by side, speed limited to 60 or whatever, for miles.

Both lanes were backed up behind them screaming at their windshields. The right lane trucker could have rubbed two brain cells together, slowed down, and let the other one pass since it was overly obvious they were dangerously backing up traffic.

After about mile ten, there was a part that veered a little right.. I peered out from behind right lane trucker could have as I was 2nd or 3rd in line. Open road.

I dusted those morons on the shoulder and the interstate in front was like the highway had been closed. As far back as I could see them they were still side by side with hundreds of cars bumper to bumper behind them.
