Need a new pair of black dress shoes (lace up or loafer). I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks

Black shoes need only be worn to weddings or funerals.

While I agree that brown is more versatile, this couldn't be further from the truth.

You in Charleston? Hit up the Allen Edmonds Factory store in North Charleston, the have only factor seconds but you can't tell a difference. For $220 you can get a nice pair of Park or Fifth Avenues.

I've bought a few pairs of Clarke's. They're super comfortable and have lasted me a good while.

Meermin are by far best bang for the back.

Please note that it’s European sizes.

What's your budget? And are these for everyday wear or for special occasions?

I used to be a brown only kinda guy, but that gets stale. I just bought a pair of black shoes and I really like them.

Black chelsea boots are pretty awesome, same with monk straps. It just depends on what you're wearing. I still enjoy some nice walnut cap toes.
