I can understand having it for clients that drink 1 cup and want a wide selection, but they’re stupid for whole office use... Do you trust co-workers to properly clean it? Also, the waste they create is unnecessary.

If you want single or double serving pots why not buy a French Press? Much cheaper and just as easy.
Making coffee isn't hard at all and it really isn't hard to make smaller quantities without buying into the K-cup mentality and wasting tons of money. But to each his own.

I buy the Community Coffee K-cups all the time and have never had any issues.

It's not difficult, but it's hard to beat the convenience of k cups for someone like me that might have a cup of coffee 2 or 3 times a week.

I can also make a case for single people just needing a quick one hitter to start the day without making a pot they have to add to the daily clean up. For me, it’s also beneficial from the standpoint that if I make a pot, I’m going to drink the pot, and I’m trying to cut down on my coffee intake.

I snatch boxes of the Donut Shop Blends from Big Lots (where the pools go for cheap shite) and the coffee is decent and the KCups are inexpensive. Prices result in about 25-30 cents a cup.
In OT terms, that’s about a dozen for tree fittee.

I have the dual pot/k cup deal. I usually just wait until I get to work to get coffee so on the days I do make it at home just grab a k cup. Makes one cup, no filter, no grounds, no mess, no cleanup. On the weekends I make regular coffee in the pot.
You can definitely make better coffee than the k cups, but for speed and convenience of people grabbing a cup out of the door or irregular drinkers it's by far the better option (evidenced by their huge popularity). This isn't rocket surgery, but the OT has to act like they are above a product that they probably all own.

This isn’t the problem.
The problem is with the size and/or initial moisture content of the Community coffee when the k-cups are manufactured. Appears that over time the coffee “sets” inside of the cup so the pressure from the Keurig has nowhere to go, and blows out the top of the cup.

I always shake my k cups pods before I put them in the machine. But I only drink a cup of coffee every other week or so.
