Baton Rouge should be very thankful that he drew Lou Daniel as the judge. It could have very easily turned out much differently.

Props to judge Daniel. Baton Rouge is just a bit safer today than it was yesterday thanks to him.

Judge Daniel doesn't play. He's probably the most consistently harsh on the bench in the 19th Judicial. Not fun to be on the other side of the bench from him.

I just want to know where Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are in all this. Shouldn't they be telling the black folk not to beat on white people?????? Oh that's right... That's not how it works....... Carry on. Btw the dude should have already gotten life for the sex crime on a child.

Strike that. Maybe his previous sex offense will catch up with him in prison.

I used to work for the victim years ago, really nice family. I'm glad this p.o.s. got what he deserved.

Hillar didn't pursue the hate crime law because the jury would be black

He specifically said why, and now you see the outcome. Would you rather him go for a hate crime and just get a year or something?

I tried to explain the reasoning way back when the guy was arrested and people refused to listen. Today our DA issued justice on a deserving piece of shite and people are bitching. This just proves that you can't please the masses. I would never run for office even if people would have me. Hillar Moore was a true public servant today.

Life in prison for second-degree battery. What a sense of justice.

I don't know the exact details that went into the hearing, it's likely the guy was gonna get life no matter what

I'm sure judge Daniel is a great judge but if someone is facing an habitual offender bill with two prior convictions for crimes of violence and the immediate conviction is also a crime of violence, then it's an automatic life sentence

Some judges try to skirt this but they are generally overturned with the quickness by the appeals courts
