Rickles was the man. He DGAF. He was probably the only guy in America who could roast Sinatra without mercy and not be visited by the mafia afterwards. Crapgame was also one of the best characters in Kelly’s Heroes.

Had the pleasure of sitting front row at Rickles’ show in Vegas back around the late ‘80s. So much of his stuff was improvised, and he pulled a lot of people up on stage to incorporate into his act. He was the best at it. I was with a friend, and being two young guys sitting next to each other right by the stage, we became the designated “figs” he made fun of . After the show he came by and shook our hands since he made fun of us. The best comedian ever. Never laughed so hard before or since.
