That delivery area ranged from Chippewa down to Aster and State St., but not campus.

t's very amusing to me. Especially the LA folks who don't live in NOLA and play that culture card. Such frickin morons Obviously NOLA isn't for everybody and I can easliy understnd not liking the place but the waterfalls of butthurt that take place anytime anything NOLA is mentioned is a true Tigerdroppings gem.

I mean, it just cracks me up the mental gymnastics that the NOLA people take to justify the shithole. How can one objectively say it's a great city? The best thing you use is culture and food. Guess what the Mexicans figured out? You don't have to be in Mexico to eat a taco.

Yep, I love people that can't just say that sucks. It has to be ranked according to other victims on the "how sorry I feel for you" scale

I think some people believe that the entirety of New Orleans consists of the French quarter and the 9th ward.

As someone who lives in New Orleans, every critical comment about the situation from our "outsiders" is absolutely correct. The people who live in this city and behave like the Eloi from the Time Machine are the ones in some sort of psychological bubble.

I agree with this. Although I haven't lived in the New Orleans area since 1999, I still visit family there every year.

When I did live there, I didn't realize how bad it really was. I thought the senseless violence and crime was just a normal thing. It wasn't until I finally moved away that I realized how nice a place could really be, and that the violence and crime was not normal.

To those saying why worry about it if you don't live there, we have friends and family that live there still. And we also still visit there. So it does concern us.

Let them live in their bubbles. I love NOLA, I'm not leaving. It must be tiring to hate a place you dont live so much. I cant imagine spending so much time worrying about a place I dont live.
LA residents not living in New Orleans trashing the city always makes me laugh. If I'm not living in NOLA metro, I'm not living in LA. NOLA may be a shithole, but it's the most desirable city in this giant shithole of a state.

Exactly. The NOLA people are in a bubble because they think that's how life is. They haven't been anywhere else for a significant period of time to realize that they live in a shithole.

It's a coping mechanism. They're unwittingly trying to mitigate a horrible situation by making it seem 'not as bad' because the victim was, in their deluded minds, somewhat culpable for his own death.

It's clear he was - he was trying to earn a living.
