But NOLA has so much culture!

You can definitely tell who knows the landscape of New Orleans and who doesn't.

not unique, but there are cities much bigger than NO and much bigger than BR that aren't crime-riddled shitholes.

I don't even consider going into the lower ninth unarmed.

It is the only place in the United States, I've ever drawn a weapon and removed the safety with the thought I was about to have to shoot someone. Fortunately, the situation resolved itself.

There's a difference in a random pizza man being shot and a drug deal gone wrong. Sorry if I have less sympathy for a guy who willingly put himself in that position.

I assume you knew that's what I was implying. Again, if that info is correct.

The butthurt from the Culture Club is strong on this board. So much jelly and no peanut butter.

Let them live in their bubbles. I love NOLA, I'm not leaving. It must be tiring to hate a place you dont live so much. I cant imagine spending so much time worrying about a place I dont live.

And I thank my lucky stars - I worked at the Nicholson Domino's for a couple of months in 1989. That delivery area ranged from Chippewa down to Aster and State St., but not campus.

I never felt unsafe, but even back then those neighborhoods could deteriorate fairly quickly.

One thing about the job - most people are happy to see the pizza guy. That's the only "food service" job I ever held, as well.

No one is claiming the "culture" of criminality is unique to New Orleans, but there is one unique characteristic all high-crime cities share...

I mean, does anybody else not see the problem here? We just accept and concede parts of the city to such a small population percentage. WHY?

So your last 3 or 4 posts have been about NOLA but you aren't concerned about NOLA. Got it.

As someone who lives in New Orleans, every critical comment about the situation from our "outsiders" is absolutely correct. The people who live in this city and behave like the Eloi from the Time Machine are the ones in some sort of psychological bubble.

It's very amusing to me. Especially the LA folks who don't live in NOLA and play that culture card. Such frickin morons Obviously NOLA isn't for everybody and I can easliy understnd not liking the place but the waterfalls of butthurt that take place anytime anything NOLA is mentioned is a true Tigerdroppings gem.

There was a particularly bad case of a restaurant delivery driver being murdered on the north shore about a decade ago. One of the OT posters knew the victim.

I don't think it's a very safe job...especially in a place like New Orleans.

Are people still speculating that the pizza guy was up to no good?
