We recently had to make a claim for a new pizza. The pizza adjuster initially denied it. But after submitting sworn testimony they relented and issued us a fresh hot new pizza.

You do realize it costs them like $1 to make you a $8 pizza, right?

I dropped my chik-fil-a in the airport on Monday. The cashier saw it happen and replaced my sandwich for free.....and I did'nt pay for any insurance.
Unfortunately, I'm low IQ.

Having worked at dominos in college this helps them save money. As it stood the policy was “always keep the customer happy” so if someone came in that screwed up at the end of the day we’d just make them a new pizza to keep them happy if they put up a fuss. Now they can say “ooo sorry should’ve paid the 2 bucks for the insurance”

Naive here, you actually have to pay for the "insurance"???!?

Yes.
You pay $2 on top of your pizza, and if for whatever reason your pizza gets damaged on the way home, you can bring the pizza back to the store and they will take the pizza back and replace it. If you don't want the insurance, you don't pay for it.

That shite wasn't an accident.

Now when I bump into a big mama at a red light and she gets out holding her neck saying “I hope you have good insurance” I can say baby I’ve got Dominoes.

They may have changed it but I know at one point it was an option you could select
ETA: looks like it is completely "free" now so who knows.

I can drop my pizza on the ground on purpose. Bring it back and get a free pizza.
Not saying I do this but is this how you get free dominos pizza?
Why would you drop your pizza in order to get a free pizza? You do know you're not getting 2 pizzas in that scenario, right? All you've done is wasted time to get the same thing you already had.

How does this make business sense?
The same way all insurance makes business sense. For every 10 people who pay the extra couple bucks for "insurance", maybe only two or three will actually use it. As for the other 7-8 customers who don't make a "claim", you've taken in an additional $2 per person at no additional cost to you.

It's a ploy to get an extra $2 per pizza. Some people are dumb enough to fall for it.
It’s free
It’s a ploy to not pay delivery drivers
They have been offering carry out incentives for years, this one doesn’t actually cost them anything.

He's obviously pointing out that it's an obscene profit so they can absorb even a 1/10 "ruined pizza" claim. You know what else they overpriced? A 20oz Coke is $2. I can buy a 6 pack for that. Last month I thought I ordered a 2l and ended up mistakingly calling the guy out for giving me the wrong thing... didn't discover my honest mistake until I got home. $2 for a 2l at a pizza place is fairly reasonable... but a 20oz?
Don't forget the pizza may cost only $1 in ingredients but you're also paying overhead and labor costs.

I used to really like it. Since they switched their sausage it sucks. They either need to go back to standard pebble sausage or go full on sausage the size of Rocky Rococo's. I'm one of the few who don't like pepperoni and my pizza has to have meat. I tried doing a philly (steak-onion-green peppers) and the steak was more disgusting than Taco Bell's. You know it's bad when it's worse than a place which labels it in tubes as "meat filling".

You're talking about it, so its working.
Someone on the OT is ordering Domino's today.

Someone started a thread once and thought you actually had to pay extra for it. Either a dumbass or an epic troll.
