Maybe back in the 90s and early 00s. They've completely re-branded and have what I consider some of the best pizza around.

It makes business sense to Dominoes. How many people are going to actually drop their pizza on the ground on purpose just so they have to go back to Dominoes to wait on another pizza? I am sure people have done it just to see..
But how often does someone drop their pizza, it falls out of the box and on the ground?
If you get home and between your vehicle and the door you drop the pizza and it doesn't come out the box and it doesn't fall in a puddle of water, etc... How many people are going to go back to dominoes, wait for a new pizza, etc, etc. They are pretty much just asking you to donate $2 to them.

My condolences for having had some pretty bad pizza.
I mean, Dominos is OK but the best around? Let's not get too crazy here.

Yup and how many people have like 4 different accidents on the way home from getting a pizza... this is a classic case of dominos saying “ here we are and we care about our customers.” I remember dominos back in the early 80’s. Damn good. Now it’s like cardboard. You want a good pizza?????? Get a good name brand and cook it yourself at home.

If you pay with AMEX, you get the pizza insurance for free.

The end result is you still only go home with 1 pizza.
College kids and others will fleece them, but they know this and still think they come out ahead from stupid people who buy insurance for no reason

Shockingly to some, companies aren't fools, and most people are going to be relatively honest.
If they find some people are abusing it-- say, doing this more than 3 times-- I would fully expect them to discontinue the option of serving those people. It isn't hard, with ordering history, to target and ban serial program abusers.
They get a little good PR, have a reasonable ceiling on the potential cost of the program, and when 95% of the people who get it are honest, recoup the cost of the program. What's so hard to see about that being a wise move?

I swear to you, I don't eat Dominoes much.. Only if I am somewhere and it is being served, but one of the few times I did get a pizza there it really did taste like cardboard.
Ive had it since and it wasn't that bad, but I absolutely had an experience getting a pizza there that tasted like the box it came in.
Dominoes and Papa John pizza sucks.

I ate an authentic deep dish pizza for the first time in my life... I guess it was just over a year ago, it was at a small pizza place not around here.. But that was probably the best pizza I could remember having...

They increased my premium. I’m gonna shop Pizza Hut’s premiums later. This is ridiculous.

$9 which is absurd. What the hell am I even paying for insurance for?

Was just explaining to the "but you would still just get a pizza" people where their logic was flawed on how it could be abused

I’d rather eat the box than dominoes pizza

Marco's is pretty damn good for chain delivery pizza.

I can drop my pizza on the ground on purpose. Bring it back and get a free pizza.
Not saying I do this but is this how you get free dominos pizza?
The commercial shows the extreme situation. However, if you delivery pizzas 3-4 times a week, you will get a couple complaints a month about a pizza shifting in the box or the middle of the box pressed into the pizza(deep dish).
This insurance scam basically gets you a freebie no questions asked(within reason).

ok, but in your scenario you just wasted more of your time for the same amount of pizza....why would anyone do that??
