Does politics trump everything these days?

It's really sad the way this board has turned on our heroes like Drew Brees and Joe Burrow who have brought so much joy to this state.
It looks like anybody that doesn't toe the party line narrative in every fricking situation is an enemy. No one to the left of Steve Bannon is safe in this bizarro clown world.

Speak for yourself. You’re gay af if you’d consider either of those guys your “heroes”. I enjoyed watching them play football but I don’t understand why people feel the need to defend them on a personal level because they threw a football for your team.
That being said, Drew Knees’ public political opinions were based on outright lies and Joe Burrow’s public political opinions are based on a misunderstanding of how the law works. Both of them are objectively shitty people for using their platforms to spread misinformation because they think it makes them look virtuous

That’s a big part of the problem.
You can certainly agree and at the same time disagree with your political party. That’s just being a grown up.
Problem is a lot of mouth breathers with IQs on the level of juveniles are actually allowed to vote. This goes both ways, both parties.
Currently people are OK with democracy being shredded if it meant inflation and gas prices didn’t rise. These people are incapable of deciding for themselves. It’s horrifying to watch.
