I drink bourbon for taste.... I specifically like barrel proof stuff and often wish I didn't start feeling it so quick

Red wine, no matter the amount, is healthy.

I drink to feel better but the troubles don’t go away.

Can’t believe the honest and mature responses I’m reading here. Didn’t think the O.T. Lounge was capable. Pat on the back guys!

Still working on the balance between feeling good and going too far even in late 30s. Getting there. It works wonders when done right.

It works very well, too well. But it just creates more troubles.

Its nice not to worry about petty little things, but they never go away, you just mask them. But, it is very effective.

I enjoy the taste. Sometimes a buzz. Not to help with troubles.

I'm sure we have our fair share of alcoholics here. Maybe one of them can guide you. Do you want a cigarette too?

Doesn't really help my troubles, but does let me forget about them for a while.

Same here. I like to enjoy a drink to relax or for positive reasons, social or celebratory or to watch a game or wind down after busy-ness. When I'm stressed or upset I don't like to drink, it doesn't help anything.

I tend to drink for two reasons:
1. I like the taste and texture of some beers. It really can be pleasant and relaxing to drink.

2. To be social. Most folks in Louisiana drink while being social, and if you don’t drink, they will see you as untrustworthy, like you might be trying to take advantage of them. So, I drink to be social and accepted, though extremely rarely do I let myself get actually drunk.
