It is a great city, anyone who has been there actually speaks well of the amount of things to do in a compact downtown, the arena and ballpark are next to each other, etc. Those who crack the jokes have not been.

Like any big metro area… it has its ghetto parts. I thought the suburbs were pleasant. Spent a few days in Beachwood.

Cleveland is actually better than it gets credit for. But considering it doesn’t get credit for much, that isn’t saying a lot
ETA: I’d move to Cleveland before I’d move to Memphis or St Louis fwiw

I went one time when the baseball team was still the Indians. I was impressed with the downtown bar scene and Jacob's Field.
My work buddy in NOLA is from there, misses it a lot, and returns every chance he gets.
It aint as bad as people say.

Too many black felon parolees for your liking?

I knew one guy from Cleveland. Great guy, btw, and he affectionately called his home town "Cleavageland"

I’d live in Cleveland before Baton Rouge…no debate.

I spent 3 weeks training for a job there in February, snowing, dry AF - I scratched myself til I bled

I have family up that way, so I frequently visit the Rust Belt. Honestly, Cleveland and Detroit are fine. The downtowns are actually on the upswing. I mean, it’s not the most exciting place in the world, but with 3 pro teams and the surrounding scene, it’s on you if you can’t have a good time.
I recently got back on a baseball trip through the Southeast. Cleveland is miles better than some of those places.

I now have to reconsider my opinion of Detroit

The Mistake by the Lake isn’t that bad. Downtown was nice a few years ago.

Consider the audience on this board.
Half of these MF’s live in Louisiana/Mississippi and suffer the gall/delusion to think they’re better situated than those in some of these underrated rust belt markets.
They’ve traveled very little and think South Louisiana is as good as it gets.
Textbook parochialism.
At least folks in Cleveland have a sense of humor about themselves.
Lastly, Cleveland and Detroit Italian food shites all over New Orleans “Italian.”

Cleveland is a very underrated city as I have spent months of my life there for work. Great touring music hub, Rockefeller money created world class symphony and museums, the east side breweries/markets and good pockets of asian and italian food. And having three major sports also is a plus. 95% on the board have not been there and it shows.
Detroit is very much on the up and a dynamic city. Get out more.

This reminds me of a joke from a comedian who grew up in rural Virginia.
"If a doctor ever tells you that you have a year left to live, move there.....because every day lasts a fricking eternity."

I was in Cleveland 3 summers ago for four days ago. I liked it a lot but I also benefited from staying at a nice hotel right off the Case Western Reserve campus and being their in late May or early June with wonderful weather.
The downtown is easily accessible with the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame right by the stadiums. You can walk to the major sights.
Is the football team moving to the suburbs? I hope not. That would be terrible for the Downtown area and an inconvenience for many residents.

Was there last weekend. Downtown and Ohio City are nice. Everywhere else is a dump.

Spent a week during July 3 years ago. Weather was great, downtown was nice and clean and easy to maneuver. We stayed about 20 minutes south and drove the interstate and local roads with very manageable traffic even at peak times. I like the Midwest and visit every year when I go the U.P. so see inlaws. Food is surprisingly good and varied. Winters are brutal though.
