I'm all about 5 series sedans, it just seems they've lost some soul in most of the lineup.

Also do yourself a favor and try a cts-V.

That is exactly right. That's why I posted the Chevy SS. It's the current generation E39. Maybe without as much luxury but the soul is there while it's missing from the current BMWs.

Have an a6 and my only complaint is that the pre sets are not your default music setting, and there's no way to make it so. Have to cycle through them and wait for this menu to load every time upon entering the car.

I looked hard at a 5 series and ended up going with the Audi, it was a coin flip though, liked both of them equally.

It's almost as if they are indistinguishable from a 3 series these days.

That was my problem with Lexus at one point. In 2008 I went to a dealership and I got inside an ES and LS and the difference was negligible. Turned me off from Lexus for a while.

I have an A7, same engine and features as the A6. It's the 3.0 supercharged. It's super quick. I find Audi has more technology in the cockpit than the others which is why I chose it, from the touchpad control, the dual LED screens, google earth nav, wifi hotspot with it's own 4G connetion, etc..

Literally the only American sedan I would consider buying.

I'm at 100k on my E60 and I've been doing all sorts of preventative maintenance to make it another in perfect working order...damn it's expensive though. I change what I can myself, but the Indy shop I bring it to loves me for sure. Nothing inspires me at the moment, and I doubt anything will, though it doesn't stop me from looking. Anything new in this class would be cheaper that's for sure.

its the outside of their standard luxury sedans that bother me...just plain

A dealer mentioned that lexus was going through a bit of a change in its design thought process in order to appeal to a younger professional crowd

I think the RC F-sport was their first real step forward with that idea, soon I think you will see it appearing in some of their SUV's and later models cars

Definitely a more bold masculine look

I think as far as visual appeal is concerned, Mercedes, BMW, Audi were all a step ahead of them

Quite a change then. Mrs Cove drives a Lexus. I drive a truck.

To be fair, yea the sports sedan will always be for the wife...but I drive it when we all go together. Seems strange to see her driving my truck.
