...and even my XJL is an awesome drive. I have just the supercharged 6 (340 hp), and it has damn fine pickup for a long wheelbase sedan. Drives and handles like a much smaller car.
And the XF has several cosmetic changes this year. Best looking car in its class imo, and the Jag interiors are just so much nicer than the competitors.

I can add to that. Driving a Quattro and a non-quattro is like driving two completely different cars

I bet you said that about people who paid $50k for their 1M's in 2011. Now their cars are worth more than they were new, whereas a 2011 M3 is about $35k.

I had a E92 M3, and while the 1Ms handled better than the heavier M3 they still had a stigma...like it or not. Same with the Boxster/Cayman with the 911.

The weight penalty is near negligible between the M2 and M4.

As far as long term appreciation, I could GAF it was leased.

Quattro comes on both... You can get a 2.0T A6 front wheel drive... But we call that the poverty pkg. If you buy/lease an Audi, this should be your main reason... QUATTRO!!!

Does not compute, you said the Caddy impressed you.

I have the hardest time believing a Jag is engineered as well as German made BMW. I get that it may be plushy and blingy and look like an exotic, but I like understated quality and it doesn't exactly exude that as a brand. Maybe the times have changed, but it's hard to get past how the brand is associated in my brain. I couldn't imagine owning a Jaguar.

Current Tata-owned Jaguar is light-years ahead of where they used to be, whether it was when they were owned by Ford or when they were on their own. The era of Jaguar being an unreliable brand is pretty much over. They're pretty middle of the road overall, but again that's light years ahead from where they used to be.

More like "I wanted a small BMW that has Corvette performance for Corvette money, not midlevel 5-series money"

It's just more showy than I'd like to be. I doubt they're going after my demographic, early 40's white engineer, so it's no indictment of their brand.

That's probably true but the perception lingers. I remember riding in an E-type when I was a kid and oh man, what a car! Spoke wheels, hood a mile long, convertible, it was the sexiest car I'd ever seen. But back then you had to be a mechanic or be related to one to own a Jag. I'm sure things are much, much better these days but I still associate Jags with a car that I'd love to ride in as long as it belongs to somebody else.

I got to ride in an E-Type last summer. Absolutely something I'll never forget. The sound, the torque, the rather unique sensations that go along with being slightly taller than the top of the windshield.

I agree with you to an extent. I think Jaguar is in the same boat as Cadillac in that a loooooot of people will never be able to think of or see them in any way but one; horribly unreliable for Jag and old people cars for Cadillac. Fortunately, Jag is trying to get young people excited about them with cars like the F-Type and the XE. Their upcoming F-Pace SUV will also sell in blinding numbers so that'll be invaluable brand exposure once there are a few tens of thousands of those on the roads.

I'll give you that. The F-type looks great and sounds even better.

Spot on.

People that think Jaguars are unreliable still think Carb Day at Indy is about adjusting carburetors.

I know yall are talking about bigger cars, but my g37 has 330 hp, weighs much less, probably handles better than the jag, as big as it is.

Obviously I'm biased, and maybe mine compares to smaller sedans, but I'm extremely happy with my car.

My grandma in Shreveport has a 2012 XF 2.0T, which is a Ford EcoBoost motor, and other than some glitch that happened with like 1200 miles on the clock it's been flawless for her. Very, very pretty car too. Metallic sky blue on silver 21s.

It's the manual. It's something psychological I think, and I feel the same way.

Don't think I'll own another automatic, love the control with the stick and clutch, the sport shift or whatever just doesn't offer the same feel
