Does anyone think we see widespread quarantining?

I mean where a majority of people are off from work for a week or so?
I know everyone is stocking up on stuff in preparation for that but just curious if anyone thinks itll actually happen.
I'm in Missouri and there's two confirmed cases in my county but so far not many closings although Fort Leonard Wood has canceled all family day activities and graduations and all of the on base restaurants have went to carryout only.

Never underestimate the actions when managing from a standpoint of fear.

The next week seems like it'll really tell the story.
Kind of the same feeling as when a hurricane enter the Gulf (the panic, not the threat). Odd to see it on a nationwide level. Cant remember anything like this in my life.

We will see that, it's not really quarantining, it's isolation to slow the spread of the virus. My wife is already working from home until April 1st at a minimum.

I think this week will tell us. We’ll find out whether we shut down or whether we can relatively remain functional.

Places like New Orleans need to ASAP. It's a hot spot with such few tests being done.
Yet Bourbon Street was packed last night.

Wrong, only pathetic scared idiots are excessively stocking up. I'm not picking up anything more than normal.

Just pack the family up and hit the mountains.
Remember, no cases as of now in West Virginia. The Appalachian Mountains are a natural buffer against apocalypses and authority.

It could happen. It would be very extreme measures.

I was prepping for a 6 month hiking camping trip when a contract job came my way, literally I was a week away from leaving. I had purchased all my supplies I think I could shut my door an not leave my house for four month without any problem.

Damn bro, hope you didn't already pack and then forced to unpack. That is super annoying! The GF hates unloading vehicles.

You live Lafayette ? Business as usual around here and don't think that bullshite will fly in Lafayette. Mayor-President Guillory would be in a heap of shite if he tries this.

So what’s the brave strategy for combatting the community spread of a virus so it doesn’t overwhelm the healthcare system?

Honestly it is a possibility. I didnt think there was anyway the NBA ever actually play a game without fans. They took it a step further and canceled the entire season.
My school district I grew up in hardly ever canceled school, no matter what the weather had going on.. They have canceled school and all schopl functions until further notice.
I dont want to see it happen. But it is certainly a possibility.
Besides, if they are serious about containment as they say and this is as huge of a deal that it's made up to be. Drastic measures will have to be taken.
Public transit is working as normal. Amazon, UPS, and USPS are working as normal. I went grocery shopping yesterday, and all the stores were packed tight.
Im no expert, but that sounds like plenty of opportunities for virus spreading to me.

I'd give it a 30 percent chance at this point... and rising.
I think that's why they are now talking so much about community spread and about how so many people now are getting it without knowing someone else who has it. They are preparing us.
