Every time this topic comes up, people argue that every generation of young people was viewed with derision by their elders, and that millennials are no different.

Boomers are the ones that in raising the millennials, they chose to be a friend to them instead of parents, boomers grew the American federal government into the monster it is today with 22 trillion in debt, boomers are preventing millennials from getting good jobs because they refuse to retire because they didn't save enough money for retirement and boomers did nothing to stop our universities from becoming woke factories that would churn out communists that are currently engaging in struggle sessions and woke jihad in our newsrooms, corporate boardrooms and elective public office.
Millennials may be a sorry arse generation but boomers are the ones that set this all in motion.

This is kind of a generalization as well. The youngest Boomers are 55 or so.
