Same.
My job has it's ups and downs with periods of high pressure followed by lulls. I enjoy it in general, but would quit tomorrow if I had enough money.

yes i like me job and my career.
its a job though. if money was no object i wouldnt continue to do it and do something else with my time. Maybe volunteer my skill set to another aspect of my profession.

A wise man once told me it doesn't matter if your job is fricking and eating ice cream, eventually it becomes a job.

I do. Love it. But made a career change at 29 because I did not like what I was doing out of college. Probably one the top five decisions I've made in my life.

doesn't sound all that wise to me

I used to. Not so much anymore. My company used to be community focused, and now it's not, and that bothers me. I'm retiring next year, so I'm just hanging on.

I like mine, I work from home 3 days a week and go to the office 2 days. Some of the work is repetitive but the repetitive works makes the days fly by.

I had a good seven year run where I'd get flown somewhere in the world to deal with a project that already had a pissed off client, in order to fix it. I really liked that job, but there was a big spinoff that took 70% of my work away from fixing IT outsourcing f ups.
New job is a total waste of my brain cells, and I hate it. If it was WFH, I'd just roll my eyes and deal with it, but 5 days a week onsite to do jack and shite 95% of the time (the other 5% is Teams calls,) it induces a lot of drinking on the weekends.

I don't. At all. I work in an industry with severe micromanagement, and consequential stress. But have been doing it for 36 years, and have made enough money to raise 4 of my own children, and 2 stepchildren. My plan is to retire in 2 years. Sometimes I wonder if I can hold out.
Looking back, if I had it to do all over again, I would probably pick something that I at least liked doing, or had a passion for. And earned less money if I had to. But I basically fell into this, and with the money being so good, once my family started growing, I felt trapped. Now, every Sunday night, I get that anxiety kicking in. I wake up like a zombie on Monday, going through the motions.
I just want to be retired now.

Been a cop for almost 28 years. There have been times that I liked it better than others, but I've never hated it or thought about quitting. OTOH, after doing it so long, I'm kind of "over it" and am looking forward to retiring in 39 months.

I just retired with 30 years in the fire service, yes I enjoyed my job. I could have worked 3 more but decided it's time for someone younger and fresher to take my spot. I was in administration for the last few years. There were pros and cons like most careers though.

I do, I mean it is work and I'd much rather be retired, but I'm only 38 and not an OT baller so work life it is for me.
I work back office doing annuity case management for a life insurance IMO. But I get roped into a lot of other stuff because I'm intelligent and a hard worker so I know a lot more about the industry than my coworkers, but it keeps things interesting.
I also work from home, and everyone is nice, everyone covers for you when you're out on vacation, I get 4 weeks PTO per year, never have to work OT. Get paid well enough. They let me leave whenever I have to do stuff for my kid, within reason.

I love my job. First job in my entire life that I actually love.

Not today.
Understaffed and management doesn't give a shite.

Much of the time, I enjoy it.
I have trouble ascertaining what's the correct amount of work. That leads to overwork and fatigue, but it's better than the opposite.

I've worked in various professional white-collar gigs for 25+ years. Over that time, I've never really looked forward to going to work. Does anyone really like their job? Some places are better than others, but mostly I get tired of a place after 4-5 years and find another job. I'm considering retirement in 6-8 years, so I have to hang in there for a bit. I wish I could find something that wasn't so boring that pays what I make now.
For context, I've made it up to a director level in my current position, so I've had some success. I guess I'm just burned out. Surely, I'm not the only one.
Looking forward to going to work is too much to ask from any job. If you don't dread going to work, then you're doing great.
I don't dread my job, that's a good place to be in life. There's lots of schmucks out there that absolutely hate and dread their jobs, but they have to do it anyway. Thank God I'm not one of them.

I tolerate it. Most days are fine, then there are some days that suicide seems like a good option.
