When you take in price, availability, niceness, etc Atlanta is in the running for “best” suburbs

Las Vegas is a better food city than New Orleans.

So that explains why Baton Rouge was a top 5 city in murder rates in the early 90’s?

Unironically, it's people like you who "defend NOLA" that keep New Orleans from progressing. Old money types and hoodrats are also to blame but I find the "defend the culcha" types to be the most obnoxious. You can still have really good food and music in a safe and economically thriving city. They're not mutually exclusive.

No.

Over time you come to understand there are two types of people in the world: those that get New Orleans and those that don’t. No need arguing about it.

Of some concern is the number of grown men that are afraid, not a little concerned, afraid of going to New Orleans.

So you delusional and can’t accept the truth that New Orleans overall isn’t safe. You certainly are not helping the reputation by wanting to fight someone for their opinion ( which are spot ) sounds like you need some mental help

New Orleans has many problems. It does look like the Michelin guide is coming there in next year or so It obviously has many assets and some are much nicer than before Katrina Because of the change in state leadership there is a greater commitment to keeping city safe which is a long process. If they can do that it will make a major difference. The suburbs are terrible except for Northshore. The healthcare sector in city is growing the new port will help. If they continue to reduce crime and clean place up city will be in a good spot

Yeah Nola is awful. I went there for a bachelor party. And saw multiple young girls on the side of the street foaming out of the mouth. Dead.

I also heard multiple gun shots around the Airbnb.

Far as I'm aware there are a few James Beard winners in NOLA as well. The JB awards are much different than Michelin.

While I don't love the Beard committee (a bunch of pinkos that took Tim Hontzas award because "hes mean to customers") they are a totally different and more approachable system than Michelin.

In short I would actively avoid Michelin star places but seek out Beard places.

F*ck NOLA. I love it but f*ck that place.

It’s failed to live up to its potential for my entire life.

I lived in New Orleans under mitch and teedy.

Maybe that was my problem. Didn't matter how good restaurants were when they were axing you for a vaccine card or when your entire neighborhood was completely flooded because the pumps didn't work.

But we got rid of those racist statues.

This is because NO does the easiest cheapest thing to make food taste good and thats add limitless amounts of fat and sugar. Whereas actual Michelin star restaurants use culinary skills.

Thats what I was told anyway.

1. This board is the wrong place to ask.

2. I get angry but also get the frustration. There’s alot New Orleans could do better.

3. New Orleans not having a Michelin star has nothing to do with crime. We’re a more laid back restaurant town.
