You list 30 when half of them touch each other, and the only real difference between the hoods is what name goes on the envelope. Come on, Roswell and Sandy Springs are essentially the same thing for instance.

In TX, "The Woodlands" by your definition would be split into Spring, Conroe, Klein, The Woodlands proper, and about four other jurisdictions that touch it.

And please note, everything good about ATL's burbs is North, NW, and West. And then you drive into town for a show! At least the Braves don't play downtown anymore.

I get this way about Columbia, but only when it's Clemson fans doing the bashing. Those morons choose to live and work here. Don't like it? Go back to the cult pastures of the upstate.

People from new orleans and their undying love for “her” and people from north Louisiana and their undying love of high school sports should make out.

New Orleans feels so much shittier then every other city because it suburbs sucks balls

Other cities in the area Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Birmingham, etc all have great suburbs with beautiful new houses and wonderful schools

Nola suburbs are Kenner, Metairie, Westbank which is old gross hosting and shite schools

It adds to the shite effect of the city itself.

Why are so many people bashing the only city in Louisiana that actually makes money? We're already a poor state that depends on federal assitance and money to get by. Can you imagine how much more federal assistance this state would need if we didn't have New Orleans?

What I don't understand is how so many pro business people, the same people who want to lower the amount of money the federal government spends, why does these people hate the one city in Louisiana that actually brings in money?

What's funny about that? Atlanta, the city, is a shithole. Nothing to laugh about many of its suburbs. It's also known as the city in a forest.

What does New Orleans have? City in the sewage?

I live 25 miles from NOLA and in the 60’s and 70’s NOLA was much better than it is today. Way less crime and filth. We hung out in the Quarters and music clubs in the 70’s and about the worst thing you’d see was a fist fight.
NOLA has so much potential but terrible leadership has ruined it. Could it get back to being a nice city? Sadly I don’t see it.

No, for too many obvious reasons. And I grew up here and live here. Also, The city isn't the same as my family.

I went to a fancy dinner tonight with a few folks. It was the kind of dinner where Michelin stars are brought up and have you been to such and such place and do you know Thomas Keller? So the table gets to me. Where is your favorite place to eat? I say Nola. No question. And that if it doesn’t involve butter and heavy cream you can fricking keep it and your stars. One guy pipes up, “new Orleans doesn’t have any stars because you can’t keep that place safe” I wanted to fight him on the spot. Say what you want but Nola will always be home for me and I can’t stand it when people bad mouth her. Anyone else here like that? Maybe I’m just tipsy and still hungry thanks to the tiny portions at dinner but I can’t be the only one, right?

I’m late to this thread, but the civilized thought they’d be nice and bring the hand out to a nice dinner. And this is how they’re being repaid. Sad!

Unless one has been there a few times or lived there, one probably does not understand New Orleans.

Specifically related to the food culture in NOLA, the food is great. Absolutely fantastic. Yet they will never be on the level of London or New York, nor will they ever get a star. It's a different food culture than that espoused by the world-level cities and/or Michelin. It has nothing to do with safety. It has everything to do with what sells and who buys it.

In other words, people come to NOLA for typecast food - Commanders, Galatoire, etc..., and although you have some fine dining like Peche or Chemin, it's not the major attraction for tourists.

Because the local market is so small and the tourists all come for one thing, you're just never going to be playing in the same pool as the majors. There just isnt' the diversity of offering nor the quality.

That said I really don't care. I love eating in NOLA and I think michelin stars are overrated garbage and I avoid places with them. The clientele they attract is very self-involved bs artists.

Low IQ beta response that has nothing to do with the discussion, comments like this are how I know I'm making a good point. If you had a well thought out response you would've said it.
