Like always carrying papers and walking fast? Or carrying a notebook of blank paper so people always think you're doing something important?

A walk with a fricking purpose everywhere I go and throw open every door to establish dominance and authority when I walk into a room.

It's one of the main habits I notice that's a tell if someone is a fellow veteran. Walking with a purpose is drilled into our heads during basic training and for a lot of us it stays with us the rest of our lives.

Always. When I walk on a job site, workers snap to and work according to the standards! Unless they see me coming then they run and hide.

I walk with a purpose at work when I'm headed to the bathroom, which is where I am right now.

Your entire demeanor should indicate you know exactly what you are doing, where you are going, and why.

It should also demonstrate that you are the very best person to do that task in that place for that reason.

Fake it until you make it. It works.

Always walk with a purpose. Act like you own whatever situation you are in.
