It’s 2018. How have you never taken an Uber?

I Uber home 3-4 times a week, on average. I tip them because I only live about 7 blocks from my work

You get a ride for 7 blocks? Do you live/work in a bad area or are you a fatass?

Uber has cut driver pay rates 3 times since their inception.

Can't you just tip on the app, instead of handing the driver cash? Does it make a difference to the driver if you tip in cash or on the app after the ride is over?

Yes and I always tip after the fact on the app. As long as I got home safe and sound and they provided me a good ride I’ll always tip.

If I’m using UBER it’s because I can’t drive or need a ride. As long as I maintain my 4.9 rating I will always get a ride ASAP so if tipping $1 per ride secures me a ride ASAP I’ll keep tipping.

Or maybe it’s late and she’s tired and doesn’t want to make the walk? Or there’s snow and ice on the ground? Or also go frick yourself.

I know the area she works in, and what passes for violent crime there would be considered a Tuesday afternoon in most areas of Louisiana.

Have you ever been to DC? People Uber 2 or 3 blocks and the Uber drivers love it. DC has to have to most drivers per capita than any city in the nation. It’s crazy

Eta. I just checked my Uber history and I was in DC 2 weeks ago and took 10 Uber’s in the 48 hours I was there.

Neither.

I'm a small female carrying cash walking in the wee hours of the morning by myself. I think it's a no-brainer to catch a ride and make it home in 2.5 minutes instead of making myself a target. But hey, to each his or her own.

Don't say this. That's like step 4 to always having to tip. Don't feel obligated. If the driver is cool, makes you laugh, is smoking hot, etc, then tip. If it's a normal ride, don't. Pretty soon these average drivers with no credentials will expect 25% like useless college students who wait tables do.

Fun Fact:
Tips are not included with your Urber or Lyft, and your driver rates you just like you rate them.

And they match like rated drivers & passengers, so keep that in mind.

False. Drivers accept fares. They do not get matched up by uber.

If they do not incessantly talk to me and my coriders about nothing or their personal lives and the car is clean and smells good.

Okay with pleasantries and all but there are some real nutjobs that do it seems like just to meet people and talk to them.

I took a cab from Harrah's at 3am for 3 blocks once because I had $3k in cash in my pocket from the craps table

I always tip cash.

Gotta keep my 5 rating so when your social rating determines what you can buy and what price you get charged, I’m golden.

Really need to make my way over there. I actually grabbed a 4-pack of Hyperfocus the other day and really enjoyed it.
